That's a very big vote of confidence, from a proven player. Question is, will he be a passive investor or be seeking an active role.Guess I'm happy either way! |
Yep, confirmation that he did indeed buy that 1m shares going through yesterday - he now has 6.8m shares worth £2.1m here.
Quite a vote of confidence: |
13.92% now for Mr Chae |
Out last night so just seen the news - intriguing! Here's his CV - 12 years as CEO of Scapa and 4 years as CEO at Volex. Plus he started out as an analyst, so he knows his onions re investing in companies.
I'm guessing he's around 52 or so now, so definitely young enough to still be looking for opportunities, though whether his motives here are simply investment-based or whether he wants to get hands-on remain to be seen: |
Means a lot come from one of the stars of Dragons Den! |
looks to be good value |
Yes, my apologies, get the drift and I think you are right. |
hastings, we saw another 1m trade today, so he could be adding more? Sorry not to be clear. |
NED at IP group, recent Exec Director at Scapa group Plc |
Sorry bamboo2 I'm lost, he's got 11.87%? Quite a statement! |
hastings, Maybe he'll post something here!
1% of shares = 494,196.9, so after today's volume, a few more notifications may appear. |
Well, I'll take the former Scapa man taking a significant interest as a very positive development! |
Agree rivaldo, has to be a sale. I believe that either Jupiter or Downing or both have suffered over the last year or so, particularly from redemptions, so I'm far more interested in who is buying at the current price. No doubt all will become clear before too long! |
Another 1m shares have gone through at 27p (must be a sale), so it seems our mystery background buyer remains very keen. |
Perhaps a different fund then. |
Downing LLP sold down its 4.83% declared today to 0.39%, matches with buy 4.83% announced 10 October 2022. |
I think you can view it both ways and as we know, funds have their own reasons for exits. What is interesting here though is three or is it four selling more or less in tandem. If they've gone to one home it could prove very interesting, particularly with Gresham sitting on more than 28% |
riv,
I take the opposite view re: buyers v sellers. We know the apparent bull case, but why would three holders look to reduce/sell, especially with two of them being AIM/IHT specialists.
weatherman,
Downing topped-up, but have been a long-term holder, and likely considerably down on cost
TCE,
GBP has rallied sharply recently against the $, although is down from it's peak |
Interesting weatherman - well if we think that SYS is cheap perhaps certain corporates do as well especially those corporates that benefit from a weaker GBP£ !?!?! |
Techinvest in July 2022 (sample online) saw SYS as a takeover target. |
Plenty more nil cost options for the Execs. |
Even more fascinating - there is absolutely no overhang from those sold shares and apparently big demand for more.
Online you can buy a maximum of a measly 800 shares at 29p - there is just no stock available. Whereas you can sell a whopping 50,000 shares at a premium at 27.8p - an unheard of amount for SYS. |
Another question - would with the recently weaker GBP£ a North American group be interested in a TAKE OVER of SYS? |
Why the red tick in POST 404 - it is a very valid question! |
