Evgeny Lebedev

To put some balance

Owner of the Independent.. a left leaning paper

this is an extract from the Independent 31 7 2020

Mr Lebedev’s award mentions not only his involvement with The Independent, Evening Standard and London Live TV channel, but also his role as patron of the Kenya-based conservation charity Space for Giants, which works to protect elephants.

Over the past decade campaigns at The Independent and Evening Standard have raised £60m in total for various causes. Readers of those titles, which have partnered with the charity, helped raise £500,000 in 2014 to combat the ivory trade. Space for Giants is also a partner in The Independent’s #StopTheWildlifeTrade campaign.

Can't be bothered with all these political extremists who jump on the bandwagon to blame whichever government when say the price of teabags go up. It's the numptie populace who have accelerated the spread of Covid19 by ignoring the government's advice and denied the virus's existence. It's a world-wide problem. There's an excess of stupid humans wandering around the planet, especially in the affluent countries. Many happen to be politicians but most aren't. We see the virus as the problem. Nature sees humans as the problem...and deals with it.

'It was the equivalent of a V-sign cheerfully flashed at his critics. The day after his landslide election victory, Boris Johnson and his girlfriend Carrie Symonds dropped into a caviar-fuelled Christmas party in London hosted by former KGB agent Alexander Lebedev and his son Evgeny.

During the campaign Johnson had stubbornly refused to publish the Russia report, written by the last parliament’s intelligence and security committee.

Its contents have still not been revealed. But it is understood to examine the extent of Moscow influence on British politics – and the way in which the Russian elite has established a powerful lobby in the UK through lavish expenditure and networking.'

What happened to this 'oven ready deal' Johnson told the gullible (sorry, *great*) British public he had before the last GE? Remember? The one that was ready to go, that if he was given a majority he'd be able to get through Parliament in days? Here we are 8 months later and we now know there *was* no deal, and it now looks as though we'll crash out with No Deal: what Johnson's Russian handlers and the ERG wanted all along, but absolutely NOT what was promised to the electorate. He is a brazen, shameless and compulsive liar. Don't take my word for it. How about believing Max Hastings - Johnson's boss until he sacked Johnson for lying, and *nobody's* idea of a libtard snowflake...?https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jun/24/boris-johnson-prime-minister-tory-party-britain
