09/8/2020 18:22 | People were wearing masks during the Spanish Flu pandemic. Search for Spanish Flu.. "The natural viral path is for it to lessen during warmer weather." South Hemisphere Australia, Melbourne 15C - sharp increase in cases. Brazil, Rio 30C continued sharp increase in cases. NZ - no new infections in days.. Northern Hemisphere India - 30-40C - sharp continued increase in Covid cases. USA - continued increase in Covid cases UK - 30C, new infections on the rise. Spain - Sharp increase in infections. Can't see real evidence the viral path lessening during warmer weather.. I think increases are more to do with the easing of lockdown.. | sikhthetech
09/8/2020 17:52 | What a sad and inappropriate thing to partially quote and misrepresent. The full quote - Most influenza outbreaks disproportionately kill the very young and the very old, with a higher survival rate for those in between, but the Spanish flu pandemic resulted in a higher than expected mortality rate for young adults.[5] Scientists offer several possible explanations for the high mortality rate of the 1918 influenza pandemic. Some analyses have shown the virus to be particularly deadly because it triggers a cytokine storm, which ravages the stronger immune system of young adults.[6] In contrast, a 2007 analysis of medical journals from the period of the pandemic found that the viral infection was no more aggressive than previous influenza strains.[7][8] Instead, malnourishment, overcrowded medical camps and hospitals, and poor hygiene, all exacerbated by the recent war, promoted bacterial superinfection. This superinfection killed most of the victims, typically after a somewhat prolonged death bed. | wigwammer
09/8/2020 16:15 | It's not seasonal, try telling the people in Brazil this virus runs in any climate unlike most of the normal flu viruses | tialouise
09/8/2020 14:50 | Oh they did have masks in 1918 as well as an anti-mask movement too. They also had lockdowns. Going by what i see on Twitter alone the irresponsible are so far, alive & kicking. Also i have just this second read that only around 50% of UK citizens would be willing to receive a C-19 vaccine. Apparently the New World Order & Bill Gates are conspiring to bump us all off & implant microchips inside every one of us via vaccine injections. The mind boggles. These people are steadfast in their arguments too. | eggy toast
09/8/2020 13:56 | Except that in1918 they didn't have face masks/social distancing/hand sanitisers. If the irresponsible can be made to follow the guidelines I don't see it being as deadly as the first wave. Then theres SNG!Added to that Avactas covid test which gives a result in minutes as opposed to hours might be a game changer for test and trace......here's hoping | kop202
09/8/2020 11:57 | Regarding lack of C-19 cases. Don't be fooled. The natural viral path is for it to lessen during warmer weather. Expect sharp rise as cooler weather sets in & lockdown easing aids the spread even more. If Spanish Flu is to be used as an example (thus far C-19 is following an extremely similar path) then the 'second wave' will be far worse from autumn through winter until spring. 'Philadelphia 1918 for example, 4,597 people died in the week ending 16 October. The virus began killing younger healthier people also as it mutated'. 'Over the summer of 1918 the Spanish flu appeared to be dwindling and it was hoped the pandemic might be coming to an end. But there was a huge spike in deaths between September and November and, unlike a typical seasonal flu which mainly kills the very old and very young, this strain targeted young, healthy people in their mid-20s to mid-30s.' Vietnam is reporting a new wave, with a strain not seen before in their country. | eggy toast

09/8/2020 11:39 | Here's the full post, from the Tern thread. The very next day (or maybe the day after that) there was yet another fund-raise at Tern. Look at the share price now. Y'all believe what you want, but I would suggest you take anything Oranolio says with a truckload of salt... "Oranolio 19 Jul '20 - 18:09 - 209971 of 213468 0 26 2 TERN plc is about to go into orbit. Congratulations to Albert Sisto who is about to become more wealthy than any other AIM CEO in history and to all the investee directors who have also made this possible. Albert Sisto has been wrongly criticised by a number of investors when he is the single reason many private investors are also about to see forthcoming life changing fortunes. The market has completely misunderstood the value creation being built at TERN plc over the past few years and is now in for a very rude awakening and an explosive few months as we take centre stage. Good luck to those trying to buy in any quantity." | sloppyjoe2
09/8/2020 11:20 | He is indeed. | festario
09/8/2020 10:55 | Tern recent placing was an utter disaster. Believe TERN will have its day but maybe a little more patience now and 2021 will see the action. | oranolio
09/8/2020 10:33 | "Tern plc is about to go into orbit" Does that sound familiar, Oranolio? Was the placing the very day after you posted that, or the day after that? | sloppyjoe2
