A pullback was always to be expected, just a case of where it stops: 107, 98 or lower? YMMV.

Hi all,

My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast recently and part of our discussion includes SLP which our Guest holds. This is an unusual episode because for the first time we had a Special Guest on the show and the response has been hugely favourable (here’s a clue: he’s not the usual ‘Guru’ that all Podcasts have).

And as always we chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing and Portfolio Management.

Anyway, if you use Youtube, Apple, Audioboom, Overcast or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 40) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, we try to keep them light and they are totally unscripted, not like all the stuffy financial fodder you are probably more used to !!

Happy New Lockdown !! WD

They could give us a dividend of 20cents and still have $30m plus in the bank

Jon4567 in response to your question.SLP had $60m in the bank end Q1.Based on 18,000 ounces I forecast net profit after tax to be between $25m and $28m which would result in a cash balance of $85m to $88m less any capex. Spread takes account of exchange rates and also costs of $652 per ounce.

Fidelity Investments selling. Going from 5.17% to below 5% (your never told what below 5%).

I suspect our share price will be based on the performance of the metals the company produces.

SLP is around 3 % of Sibanye or Impala's EV.
Sibanye is an acquisitive growth company and obviously bullish on PGM prices.
Both these companies are generating around 30 % free cash flow yields now, and have relatively little debt.

SLP could be a very attractive target.

At these spot prices, I figure buying SLP at around 300 p would still be EPS accretive for them, at least for Sibanye.

Hopefully SLP is left to get there on its own.

Disclosure: I am long SLP.

The stock ranks are driven by how stocko defines its 3 key measures namely quality, value and momentum. Where momentum outstrips the other 2 stocko categorises as a momentum trap, but this doesn't really take into account potential future changes in the other 2 measures. A classic is TXP, defined as a momentum trap because it's historical earning s are low and stocko perceives it as expensive. Doesn't factor in the huge potential for future earnings. That said it's wise to be sure before investing in any of the negative stock ranks. You just have to DYOR, there's no substitute.

Plat GOOD to see you back. I was genuinely worried you’d got covid. Even posted a few times to ask if you’d been seen
ive been watching the newbies with interest but stayed away as too hard to explain I know the numbers for this year on SLP. My model has been within 5% for 3 years now. I respect your way of trading but so I can get a grounding of if my method is as successful as yours would you share how much your capital has increased by % ? Mine is 160% Jan 2020 to Jan 2021
Appreciate it MrS

I've been averaging up on EAAS over last month or two. Not as fast as I would have liked. And then checked it on Stockopedia today and can see they have it as a momentum trap. Does that basically mean that sometimes they don't have the data they need to properly assess the company?

Agree goldy, I use stocko to screen, throws up some right corkers occasionally, HUM being one.

It's a really good idea to look at Stocko. There's lots of very useful data and guides. Helped me when I was new to investing. As you get more experienced you realise that the algorithms used don't necessarily match the real world, but that takes time. For me I've made more on the "momentum traps" than anything else, but that could just be luck.
