Platinum will rise to USD 1,250/oz by the end of 2021, a 16% upside from Tuesday's price, UBS forecasted. The firm also said palladium could also hit $2,900 per ounce in 2021, roughly 21% above current levels. Source UBS

PGM basket for SLP is now $3,900. Based on 18,000 ounces that’s $28m to $31m net for q3. Range is due to allowance for currency changes plus costs per ounce between $600 and $700
If they produce 20,000 ounces then range is $31-$34m. I’ve made no allowance for capex but will revise when we get q2 update.

Rhodium breaks through $20,100. Palladium back through $2400 and platinum closing in on $1100. Whitefish is indeed a prophet

From the 19th Nov:

"Rhodium might ultimately crash but not before further seasonal highs this Winter is my guess. I still think $20,000 cannot be ruled out given likely demand and deficit issues.

Palladium may also benefit but not to the same extent.

Mr Stephens and I will get excited working out Q3 Profits if I am right!

Longer term everything is starting to move in favour of Platinum, so everything seems too good for Sylvania at present."

OVER TO YOU MR STEPHENS.

Yes, the company has a habit of not delivering an attractive Dividend but the rest of your suggestion, I regard as rubbish. I am guessing you do not and have not read AUDITED Report and Accounts and Cash Flows going back 5 or more years to see the build up of cash.

Had you gone back in time you would see how quickly PGM prices, notably rhodium can drop in a straight line and have a devastating impact. Rhodium went from 10,000 to less than 1,000 in one year. Very unlikely now but it did happen.

The Company has said it will announce a Metals Dividend this quarter and pay it this quarter, this, plus a Final dividend post June is what we need to judge Management on.

Without a material Dividend - at least 10p or 12p in total and a significant Capital Expenditure plan, then shareholders have every right to be angry.

Chairman and Directors of Sylvania, I hope you read this and respond appropriately, within your HY results.

Company has a proven ability to surprise to the downside - H1 statement will be key.

If they once again hoard cash, then the share price reaction will be very adverse because all the signs are they do not need the cash. Conspiracy theories will run rife - I don't go in for these but I really do regard a company with too much cash with suspicion - many instances where the cash has proved not to exist.

That is the percentage of the precious metals that SLP produce. That is their PGM basket. You multiply that figure by the ounces produced. Deduct the costs historically $600 an ounce deduct the smelting percentage typically 24% deduct the tax 28% and you get the net profit. There you go 3 years of modelling SLP in 10 lines

Rhodium $19500 x 13% = $2535. Palladium $2400 x 25% = $600. Platinum 1070 x 62% = $663. Total = $3798 gross PGM basket
Source metals daily and JM. Net basket after smelting costs(never quoted in accounts)= $2900. Price quoted in IC by ST = $3500 or 25% higher than 1st quarter of $2625

SLP 4E basket now at approx US$3100/oz Presumably the highest it has ever been. Maximum reached before covid was approx US$2800/oz.

this is why we love the mkt and trading....the numbers were clear and transparent for ages and yet the mkt ignored it, now it doesnt.

in fact the actual numbers are pretty similar to the date i invested in, the rhodium move has been that impressive. very similar pe based on forecast

Wow can't believe ive missed this little beauty. Used to be in it years ago but sold. Regretting that now. When you look at trend over past few years just showing upwards! Where do people see this short and medium term? Surely needs a breather?
