Went to the Swallowfield AGM last week and was disappointed to be told at the AGM that my daughter would not be allowed to attend the AGM put down to that old chestnut - Health & Safety.

The AGM is held in a side room off the factory.

It seems strange that it is safe that adults can attend but not children due to H & S!

It wasn't like it was on the factory floor and, she's attended the last two and actually been on a factory tour.

She's been to Renishaw, Rotork, Clarks and Haynes all with no problems.

Any way, I guess it was a sign of what was to come.

The board invited questions but, didn't really like it when it was suggested that they have rewarded themselves handsomely whilst rewarding the work force modestly - I guess their thinking is that money motivates the rich but not the poor.

Asked about whether they had any plans to elect an employee to the board came the answer, reading between the lines, no unless it is mandated.

Shame, that a small company where an employee put forward by the workforce could make a great contribution won't happen as it seems they consider it more appropriate to have board members put forward by large shareholders.

Congrats to SWL bod and mngrs....been an active last 1-2 years.

And Western Selection & other big holder were right to have pushed to get a new chairman and MD. Humble pie for me, I was against since I was worried that family behind Western just wanted a board positn & dirs. pay (& had a random track record at other companies)

I am hoping this has legs as the weekly chart looks good. I have held these for some time. Better than a lot of the other rubbish I have bought.

Sold my minuscule 2K holding in SWL this morning at 9.33.35 for £2.60. Good luck to all remaining holders I might possibly buy back should there be any weakness or profit taking following the finals!

Finals on 20th Sept. Huge EPS growth & zero debt probably merits a PE re-rating imo. We shall find out soon enough!!

What on earth is going on with the share price and where is the hidden value in SWL that Soros has apparently found? Am tempted to sell before they fall back having held for many years.

Does this mean that our loveable Mr PG has been replaced by THE Mr George Soros of international fame and reputation? If this is the case SWL will appear on lots of radars.

Gyllenhammer sold out to zero rather than purchasing. Soros seem to have bought most of the shares to become the largest shareholder.

Peter Gyllenhammar via The Union Discount Company of London Ltd and SFM UK Holdings Limited, Soros Fund Management LLC seem to have been recent major purchasers. With a PE of 9 and a PEG of 0.24, 205p might look a good deal post 20th Sept. Hope so, I hold quite a lot of these. Good luck to holders.
