one of the best management teams in the small-cap sector, no doubt. this company has a long way to go - in the right direction - the chairman had a phenomenal success with nichols and it seems he is on the way to repeat this here. it is just such a pity that certain shareholders were so keen to protect the former chairwoman and here less than competent ceo mr mckinnon. this no doubt cost shareholders considerable and valuable momentum.

Well attended AGM with very up-beat presentations. Lots of new irons in the fire. LTIP kicks in when share price reaches 220p for well deserved Executive Directors.

the new management team is superb - look what the chairman achieved with his former company Nichols - a repeat here and we skall see Swallowfield at £10 in a few years time. the man is absolutely brilliant - it is just a pity certain shareholders were so keen to protect the Shena Winning/Ian Mc Kinnon team for too long. very sad.

I understand that Bagsy is starting to roll out in Debenhams in selected stores. It was seen in Oxford Street, London last week. The MR range is about to hit all of Boots stores starting this week.

no no this surge in the share price is most likely because there are rumors Shena Winnings and Ian McKinnon are imminently doing a come back here - the "Super Team" protected by certain pigfarming shareholders in the company a couple of years ago...........

..looks like a buy of 30000 shares gone thru at 136p.....

Offer is now 140p.....

So strong share price action seems to be continuing...

A key factor imo is that no one seems to be selling...so far..so small volume has caused big % price rise....at some price one assumes some sellers will appear..

Well done to the new MD and rest of SWL managers and workers....clearly they have been busy doing various things...get the impression they have been working hard...

A clear difference from some AIM cos. with dirs. ..............

Whether or how it turns into turnover and profit...have to wait to see.

Thx Smithie, market today doesn't seem to like the results much but there seems to be much to be positive about having read them despite the increased investment in the second half, some of the own brand products could be promising.

1) PG is expecting a cash lump sum from another co. where he has a big holding being bought....
so, in advance he could perhaps be investing some of that cash...


2) CRL
Creightons share price also doing well in recent months....
as well as the SWL share price
also produce/sell cosmetics etc

ah...ref. RNS....I see that P. Gyllenhammer has bt. around 24k shares...
but tiny fraction wrt his holding of 26%
with the super illiqudity that could be what has moved the price up

who knows....except perhaps the person who made a sizeable buy today (for SWL ) !

(a busy season for SWL is of course before Xmas....perhaps it was ok/good and some insiders buying ??....which could include workers/workers contact/delivery drivers !
fingers crossed not a false rise !)

new MD ....perhaps now settled in and perhaps making some progress ??

This upwards creep of the share price shows no sign of letting off. The last update reckoned that full year results would be in line with expectations so I wonder what is causing the increase? I suppose low oil price would help but I can't imagine weakness in the Euro will be very helpful.

Any ideas/comments?

the share price is creaping up over the past X days....
fingers crossed it is a good sign (especially just after the important period running up to Xmas...Xmas being a big period for sales of cosmetics etc)

Still watching and have a very very small holding after selling most of mine before they cut the dividend. Results were better. They need to do things differently going forward. ROE has been way below 10% for the last 5 years. Difficult to see a compelling reason why it's going to suddenly make much more than a c£1m profit a year. What are they doing on innovative new higher margin products? All looked a bit vague on the "Emerging new category". They have certainly stabilised the business and improved gross margins though.
