1) just investor demand
2) Rumour of Take over (UTV / ITV)
3) End of legal disputes
4) sale of Perl and Dean

we shall find out soon me thinks!

Cheers for that wallywoo, I did wonder but just thought they were following the UBS sale.

Nope, no news that I can see - 'Newsnow' is pretty good for picking up related articles.

nope not a squeak / rumour or RNS to be found BUT share price up 12% on Friday, 30% over the last 2 weeks and 3% today. Mostly against a fairly flat market.

If this was ITV, JPR etc this board would have 200 bullish posts by now

fine by me!

Nice to see some action. Been a very good week or so. The 20 day MA has overtaken the 50 day MA. Bullish signs.

Been sat on this since December so very pleased.

think next week is going to be very interesting here. Great day today, always very positive when the share price finishes on a day's high.

Shroder if you look Fidelity and Granada have not sold a share (their % went down simply because the co issued Share options which dropped their share %).

Last time we were here the share price shot quickly to £1, will be watching closely on Monday

Nice find Bud.

A most pleasing week this week. This is despite not winning the tender for the STV news. The Times today is reporting that they have a large back catalogue for which they will charge top dollar for access.

AGM coming up in April.

A fair opinion scbscb

my take is that stvg are trading at a very low PE and as advertising picks up then the share price will also climb.

Agrred that the decision to show cheap irish programmes and some local tv has been a mistake. I keep coming back however to the valuation for the whole company of £18mill.

I am quite suprised that someone hasnt stepped in and bought this company out at these valuations.

I am happy to hold despite the risks and will wait for £2. as said above. of course this could take a while. Ah well, what's the rush?

This share is undoubtedly cheap but the company has serious problems. The stupid idea of putting on cheap local rubbish in place of popular network dramas and The Bill looks like the management is on a suicide mission. Also the court cases are a distraction from what the company needs to do to survive. The only winner in legal actions are the rascal lawyers who will egg on anyone mad enough to pay £600 plus per hour. Of course sir has an excellent case and will win.
The station risks losing even more of its audience to London ITV as they retune to avoid the cheap local rubbish to watch The Bill and other popular dramas. The big problem is that they won't bother to tune back, and London ITV will gain Scottish viewers. It may be laudable to broadcast more locally produce material but only if is better than what the network is showing. Also the real competition is on ITV but Sky and Virgin Media and other forms of entertainment, but the current inept management seem oblivious to this. Also they seem to be encouraged by The First Minister in that Micky Mouse Palace for the unemployable to go debate and claim expenses. The only way out I can see is for it to be taken over, but who would want to buy it. Terrestrial tv is withering, they need to branch out to satellite and cable, at least ITV is trying with all those other stations. STV has one sad station that even people in Scotland won't bother to watch soon.
Does anyone have recent audience figures?

I noticed earlier in the week that RBS had upgraded STV Group to a buy from a Hold.

No indication of price though.
