Must be quite tough for Bob to see 100% buys after his stepping down announcement, but it has to be for the best. Just on the communication front alone, Bob has not been selling STI, while Christopher Hall seems to have a knack for turning good news into a confusing, negative-sounding mess.

Any kind of bridge building between Stratex and private investors would be a priority for me.

Yes I saw that Blobby. Good to see they were awarded at the lowest price the share price been at for months. A conspiracy nut might read something into yesterday's dip

Greedfear,
He doesn't need to buy as he has 6m options. Still though, it is an incentive, the higher the share price goes the more he makes (obviously!).

The first clarification needed imo is what exactly is going on at Altintepe and Stratex cash flow ?

steve1905, I'm not sure that a big buy from the new CEO will be forthcoming. AIM directors like to share in the upside without worrying about the down side. From the bottom of the RNS:

"As part of Marcus' remuneration, he will today be issued (‘Date of Grant’) with options over 6,000,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence (‘Ordinary Shares’) in the capital of the Company (the ‘Options’;). The Options will be issued at an exercise price of 1.78 pence per Ordinary Share, being the closing middle market price on 31 August 2016, and will vest in equal tranches over a period of 3 years, on each anniversary of the Date of Grant. The Options are valid for a period of 10 years from the Date of Grant."

I think Bob did actually put his own money into Stratex at the beginning which was always a plus point for me.

I feel Bob was genuine in his efforts and did what he thought was best. Unfortunately, a dire market has conspired, along with poor decisions/communications, to leave the share price in the gutter. Hopefully this change at the top will be the catalyst to turn things around. A big buy from the new man at the top would help boost confidence. The old team of directors kept their hands firmly in the pockets when it came to personal buys, sadly not so when it came to worthless investments with Company funds

I don't dislike the man (Bob) and wish him well, but he has not done anything the last couple of years that improved shareholder value. So, I'm happy with the new CEO. The king is dead, long live the king!

Anyone, what would be the quote for a dummy buy of 250,000? And a dummy sell of 250,000? Cheers! MM's killing any potential action with their ridiculous spread (1.7 - 2.0).

He got the Turkish stuff handed to him on a plate and everything he touched in Africa was a dismal failure that squandered all our money. He surrounded himself with greedy incompetents , couldnt communicate , negotiate or deliver on promises. All in all a total disaster that has overseen the demise of STI . Yeah , I am a fan too

It could be health reasons ? Or some unknown issue perhaps Altintepe ? If it is health then hope all is well for Bob. Christopher Hall lurks in the background and it was he who destroyed much of Stratex reputation with the complete debacle over Silvrex, Dalafin and Cole-Baker.
To answer your question Longshanks I think the choice of Engelbrecht is positive for Stratex. He now needs to demonstrate his hands aren't tied by Hall and starting sweeping the company clean, clarify cash flow and the future of Stratex.

Wow, I didn't see that coming.

Good luck to Bob Foster. I've been both a fan and (more recently) a bit of critic. He has made some good calls, Inlice, Altintepe and Oksut, but also some very expensive mistakes. I've no doubt he worked very hard and I would not be here as a shareholder if not for his leadership of the company. I wish him well.

Hopefully this explains the issues with communications lately.

What good news to get rid of Bob. Nothing personal but he lost most of our money and consistently failed to deliver . Just a pity he didnt take the rest of the overpaid failures with him. Would have been nice to get a younger guy but at least we are now in with a chance. A worry that he is a buddy of Hall .
Always has been potential here if we had the right management to deliver - maybe now ..

Now would it not be nice if our new CEO started buying STI shares on the open market?

There's a lot of cleanup to do. They can't go on throwing money at Dalafin, Goldstone and holding their stake in Thani all together. Best to ditch one or two of those and focus on the best bet.

You'd have thought Bob might have taken his bow on announcing clarity etc re Altintepe , allaying any worries there, & leaving on a high. Now though the new CEO can apply his broom to reveal whatever's been going on in a frank & open style.

Best news in years.

Actually we shouldn't crow too much. After watching Bob's awful presentation a few weeks back I had been wondering if there was a health problem, hopefully it's a happy retirement for Bob.

For once I agree with you. Bob and co. have delivered nothing but disappointment to shareholders. The new CEO should be firm with the incumbents, regarding who they should be representing.

Corguv, now that you've finally been appointed - are you going to remain an outspoken critic?
