Agree it's frustrating. However the last couple of sessions have not been SML-specific and is more general volatility. That said, I'm very excited about what the next couple of months may bring.

Excuse me at least the languishing was at a higher level!
Very frustrating market for us the last few months. Hopefully this will change in the near future ...gla

1st Truck on the new weighbridge at Cobre, New Mexico this week. Continued high magnetite sales volumes mean the SMG team start early. Is this Tweet a positive indication that all is well with Cobre.Looks that way to me.

All very well and good but why is the share price languishing at these levels?

GD - and often option exercising involve cashless transactions to sell enough to pay taxes - I think the fact that they haven't even done that has to inspire confidence in anticipated future growth :)

bountyhunter,

I too believe in your second point.

yes why leave them to expire worthless?

the point is imo that they have held onto the resulting shares to participate in future growth rather than selling to make a cash gain

I too would have taken up the options @ 1p if I were a SML director.

In the Vox markets podcast today did I hear rightly that the Cobre "roll over" could come any day now?

Get the Cobre contract renewed now please JP & we are off. That is the only thing keeping us under 3p imo.

Agree Edgein. Another positive update. Don't think there will be any road bumps for LC in the next month before full binding terms. Would like to see the terms of the offset agreement for 300 tonnes per month but would expect it's decent With copper prices rising, this could be a very shrewd investment which reduces reliance on cobre to some extent

GD,

You're welcome fella, this is a very solid little company, no wonder management think they can get it to 5.75p+. Good to see contract exchanged and the acquisition to complete in around one month. Just like the high margin on the magnetite sales this copper project is likely another lucrative asset to the company and like Hanns Camp, further expo upside with it too.

Regards,
Ed.

Paulie,

Definitely to get the copper equivalent you can multiply those nickel equivalent grades by 1.6 approx, so yeah very good grades and very shallow too. Even better this exploration is internally funded through the cash flow from the magnetite sales.

Ed.

Another very good update. All work funded by existing cash flows. Should go higher today.

Nice little top up just now - significant upside due over time with target in 9-10 range. Leigh creek minor blip but rather BOD do things properly then see things unravel further down the line

Gosh we only just had the rns saying all good and full steam ahead!!!!! then this

Update on Acquisition of Leigh Creek Copper Mine

Strategic Minerals plc (AIM: SML; USOTC: SMCDY), the diversified mineral development and production company, wishes to inform the market that the exchange of contracts and hence settlement of the acquisition of Leigh Creek Copper Mine has been delayed by a combination of the December holiday period and the need to satisfy a number of conditions precedent associated with the purchase being of an existing company, inclusive of mineral rights. It is anticipated that binding contracts will be exchanged in the coming weeks and settlement will occur once all conditions precedents are met. Notably, while it is intended to undertake the purchase through the Company's 100% owned subsidiary, Ebony Iron Pty Ltd, the transaction will still need to be cleared by the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board.

Management and the Board consider the conditions precedents to be primarily administrative and have been working with the vendors, Resilience Mining Australia, to exchange and complete on the sale and purchase agreement as soon as possible.

Commenting, John Peters, Managing Director of Strategic Minerals, said:

"Time taken to complete necessary legal due diligence and the impact of the Christmas period have combined to delay the exchange of contracts for the acquisition of Leigh Creek Copper Mine. We have no concerns about completing the transaction but want to ensure that all procedures are completed properly to reduce risk to the Company."

Lets hope its rectified quickly...gla holders

Ed,

As you so aptly said "the sooner they shift that plant and get it into production the better given the current copper price."

GD,

Lets hope so fella, lets hope so! Should hopefully get some action on the ozzie copper asset, the sooner they shift that plant and get it into production the better given the current copper price. Put that healthy margin on the magnetite sales to good use.

Ed.
