servelec bid for with binding acceptances - probably for the best, it had become a drag on performance.

Good to see the board buying back shares while this discount exists. MGP has done very well and NAV has put on 20p pretty quickly.

Tribal has also moved up nicely recently. I suspect we will have to live with a 15% discount to NAV until the new manager establishes a track record, but my suspicion is that a lot of the companies in the portfolio have had a flat share price and limited news flow over the last couple of years but that is coming to an end and the NAV may now start moving consistently forward. Hoping, anyway!

Thanks for clarifying Peter. He did a great job at Rentokil for years but I would have thought with 5m of his own money invested he will not tolerate investment management that isn't top drawer. NAV and share price have been moving north recently, let's hope it continues.

The last annual report has him as Deputy Chairman and deemed non-independent director as he is on the Industry Advisory Panel of the Investment Manager. He has been on the Board since 2005.

he is not on the board. he is an investment consultant to the investment team.

I've previously commented on the Cali reference of the board here but only found out this week that Sir Clive Thompson has £5.4m of his own money invested here. That should provide reassurance that the board is aligned with investors.

looks like the new broom has had an instant hit with backing medica at ipo with proceeds from e2v. guess the old broom will claim it was his dd. either way nice result...

Well, my comment above re press "drops" was accurate for less than a week! Battle by briefing. Presumably the suggestion of a buyback is to buy back the shares of the big holders who want out, though won't know that until see the EGM requisition.

With any luck the two sides will sit down and talk, but been no sign of that so far.

Thanks @MF. Guess I'm just a bit disappointed that the Board's judgement isn't my judgement.

So absolutely no change to what we know already. ie the Board are sticking with SW's junior (& he really is junior!) & show no interest in engaging with SW or major shareholders.

How can they not know what SW "..Is doing and when" - it's been in the press!
