In today but had to break up my order into small quantities to get stock. Couldn't get a Fill or Kill even at full offer - twice. Ended up breaking one of my trading rules by chasing the price. Clearly not much stock available at present. Hopefully the bottom is in. Please ring the bell ?

2 large buys after the auction closed = 2 x 175k shares at 23.115p (£81k). Its good that someone else sees some value here, here's hoping its a Director buy!

Although the trading update was a bit of a shock given the narrative in the interim's only 11 wks prior, but aside from the indemnity insurance the issues and reasoning given sound like the should only have a short / medium term impact (i.e. delays and slower than expected progress).

mcap @ 23 = £13.7m
cash at end H1 was £18.1m
Forecast underlying PBT H2 19 = £0.9m
Fincap forecasting FY20 PBT of £3.1m

feel like the downside for the business limited from here (maybe not for the share price).

looks like one of the large holders could be reducing / exiting as plenty of buys today at this level.

Eastbourne, the profit warning stated that PBT for the full year will be £3.8m. In H1 the figure was £3.4m. So they predict PBT in H2 is 400k, I'm sure you will agree a massive drop and a very poor margin. Profits have dropped off a cliff, hence the fall in the share price.

Regarding your final paragraph, I'm not sure that is a fair comment.

Their margin is decent enough.

Eastbourne, sometimes the market prices these things wrongly and sometimes the market is telling you something.

I think there is a significant risk here, mainly around the fact that profit has dropped very sharply. That may be temporary or it may be the start of bigger troubles ahead.

They are employing significant amounts of capital to turn very little profit, which is not a good look.

the cap value is definitely shouting out
"buy the company"
to bigger fish in the sector

strip out listing costs, reduce dirs costs & maybe combine 1 or 2 offices with those of a buyer (to reduce rental costs) & the cash production would increase

the last acquisition that STM made shows that acquisition prices/values take those types of things into account
-----

surely the acquisition value must support the share price around this level

The valuation is bizarre, you would think this was a company on the brink of breaching it's bank covenants or something similar, the reality is the finances are very secure with a net cash balance above the market cap.

Can anyone tell me any different ??

I've added today. Seems to good to be true. The company has a negative EV yet it is a profit making company.

Bought into these today at under 25p, profit warning has resulted in a rock bottom valuation, in 12 - 24 months I think this will double.

I've sold Belvoir today on the back of its very strong run recently. Made 50% in under 12 months.

Belvoir is a primarily a lettings agency, it makes it money from fees charged to landlords and from financial services. It doesn't have any shops as it works on a franchise model.

each person has their own favourite shares & views on risk/reward

I like STM !

(& Photo Me had an accounting scandal I think, enough to put me off)

----

Belvoir
high street shops have been hit hard by ppl instead buying on-line

Thomas Cook went bust, hit by on-line competition

Countrywide showed a massive fall in share price

will estate agents be hit in the future by the same move of buyers & sellers connecting via the web rather than via a physical shop ?

3% sales commission on a £250k house =£7500
its insanity.
on-line websites can do a lot of it for a much lower price
it aint gonna last like it is imo

(remember analogue cameras & film.....now most ppl just use their phones, nothing is g'teed in this changing world)

& high fixed costs with low recurring income.
blink & you go bust ! (see the graph of the Countrywide shareprice)
& I think the property sector is set for a fall.

so, its not for me.

Smithie, a fair point and the main reason behind their lowly rating. However, their business is much more than just UK photo booths (which is declining by 1 or 2% a year). They have very significant other business lines which are growing fast and indeed their photo booth business outside the UK is still performing well. I strongly encourage you to read their latest results you will get a much better view of their business.

Just to add that Belvoir have issued a superb acquisition and trading update today.

are photo booths something historic ?

from the days of analogue photography, with booths using chemicals to produce photos on paper

do ppl really need photobooths nowadays ?

(just take a selfie on a smartphone, or crop an existing digital photo, & then print it at a local printing/net place ..)

Another good small cap that I own is PHTM (Photo-me). Been through the mill a bit but now coming out the other side. Low rating, good cash position and dividend. Interim results out today all good.
