Bought into these today at under 25p, profit warning has resulted in a rock bottom valuation, in 12 - 24 months I think this will double.

I've sold Belvoir today on the back of its very strong run recently. Made 50% in under 12 months.

Belvoir is a primarily a lettings agency, it makes it money from fees charged to landlords and from financial services. It doesn't have any shops as it works on a franchise model.

each person has their own favourite shares & views on risk/reward

I like STM !

(& Photo Me had an accounting scandal I think, enough to put me off)

----

Belvoir
high street shops have been hit hard by ppl instead buying on-line

Thomas Cook went bust, hit by on-line competition

Countrywide showed a massive fall in share price

will estate agents be hit in the future by the same move of buyers & sellers connecting via the web rather than via a physical shop ?

3% sales commission on a £250k house =£7500
its insanity.
on-line websites can do a lot of it for a much lower price
it aint gonna last like it is imo

(remember analogue cameras & film.....now most ppl just use their phones, nothing is g'teed in this changing world)

& high fixed costs with low recurring income.
blink & you go bust ! (see the graph of the Countrywide shareprice)
& I think the property sector is set for a fall.

so, its not for me.

Smithie, a fair point and the main reason behind their lowly rating. However, their business is much more than just UK photo booths (which is declining by 1 or 2% a year). They have very significant other business lines which are growing fast and indeed their photo booth business outside the UK is still performing well. I strongly encourage you to read their latest results you will get a much better view of their business.

Just to add that Belvoir have issued a superb acquisition and trading update today.

are photo booths something historic ?

from the days of analogue photography, with booths using chemicals to produce photos on paper

do ppl really need photobooths nowadays ?

(just take a selfie on a smartphone, or crop an existing digital photo, & then print it at a local printing/net place ..)

Another good small cap that I own is PHTM (Photo-me). Been through the mill a bit but now coming out the other side. Low rating, good cash position and dividend. Interim results out today all good.

+6% according to advfn

:-)

looks like the sellers have finished

(some sellers will probably have been funds
& by selling all their shares they won't have to present the holding and show the % loss in any reports to shareholders (or their bosses !)
..so, they may have overpushed the fall in the share price)

At the moment probably the only small company I know that fits the bill is Belvoir (BLV). Steady growth in revenue and profits, not expensively rated and pays a good dividend.

RCT,

Name the good companies who are on the up ?

Smithie, I don't generally go in for predictions, I can see a range of possible outcomes, some good and some bad. So many times I have seen companies say they have problems in one quarter or half year and they say but everything will be ok after that. Quite often it's not. STM looks like a business with problems, I just don't invest in businesses with problems, what's the point? The name of the game is to find good companies who are on the up.

I'm a holder here, so it pains me to say that I think there will be another deluge of PI sales on Friday / next Monday when Simon Thompson writes an article with Sell STM in the IC. Have considered buying more, may wait till Tuesday next week and see if bottom price has been found and dust settled.Just my view for what its worth...Rich

I bought a few today, these are now trading at about the level of NTA and are stuffed full of cash.

Effectively the business is in the price for nothing yet it remains profitable, albeit at a reduced level.

has it now stabilised/bottomed out ?

& if so

does that mean that it might start going up ?

go on RCT2, you know that you want to buy some !! :-))

smithie, you are clearly focusing on the wrong things

the share price is going down

rcturner2

I still think its too cheap !

----

with its cash & big recurring income its value to a buyer is higher than this

a buyer can reduce the no. of staff, number of offices, remove the listing costs, & PLC dirs costs (& use their own phps)....& get cash production back up

or keep the international offices & sell products to their own client base, ( possible buyers imo at a share price higher than this incl. imo AJ Bell, XPS pensions, KWG....)

Loads more delayed buys / sells going through here again - its hard to get clarity of the situation (good old MMs, lots of smoke and mirrors as always!!)

Its going to take a week or so to find the bottom here, IMO. Simon Thompson will print a screaming "Sell" in this weeks IC and more scared PIs will follow like sheep. I'm considering buying more, will wait and see how the price / volume trends. Rich
