Totally different management when I invested in 2005. I fell for the hype of Harry Wilson and his board and the "stunning Mauritanian deal".

Now we have Alistair Beardswell and his group of cronies. Whilst he comes with some sort of track record so did Harry Wilson. At the end of the day they are all a bunch of bloodsuckers living off your investment.

Fancy a challenge and put your skills to the test!? Here are the
oil stock competitions that sort out the boys/girls from the men/women! ;-) :-)

Best regards and Happy & Exciting New Year.....

A few years back Denis O'Brien bought a large chunk of shares in this company because someone convinced him of it's potential. He got his fingers burnt.

Are these Russians any smarter? KNOC have walked away, so they obviously didn't see any potential.

xiggly, SEY have been taking oil from Mauritania for some time (Chingueta?)

But for me it's the Russian fund buying a chunk. Why would they do that? Because they can see great potential!

The model of the small oil explorer is a simple one:

1) Big fanfare, raise some capital
2) Acquire licence in an area with exploration potential
3) Carry out geotechnical appraisal work
4) If necessary, raise more cash by farming out some of the potential in exchange for a share of the risks/rewards
5) Choose a place to drill
6) Drill
7) Pray
8) Carry on doing 2 to 7 until: a) commercial oil found, b) the company goes bust, c) rights issues galore, until the original investors are diluted out of existence

rayrack or anybody

would welcome your expertise guys as i am a bit of a novice on here but do have alot of SEY shares that i am holding at a big paper loss -

why in your opinion will next year be a good year for us , SEY have never found any oil in the last 8 years ( if ever at all )or whatever it is ,

what makes anybody think they are going to find any next year -- lord knows i hope they do but we have had so many false dawns from sterling for so long now i am begining to think they could not find oil in a halfords shop -

this is a serious question guys and i would welcome peoples views -
-------- thanks alot -

I think we should just watch this one fly higher and forget about the Tarquin's of this world. He's not worth the effort of lifting a finger. 2013 will be a very good year for SEY. Buy for the recovery did someone say?
