A £4k punt at the end there on news within 10 trading days I reckon, not a bad little bet I'd say.

The Clogau St. David's Gold Mine
The Clogau Gold Mine (sometimes known as the Clogau St David's Mine) was once the largest and richest mine of all the gold mines in the Dolgellau gold mining area. It is situated in Bontddu, near Barmouth in Gwynedd north-west Wales.

After producing copper and a little lead for quite a number of years, the mine developed into gold production in the 1862 'rush' and continued as a major operator until 1911, during which 165,031 tons of gold ore was mined resulting in 78,507 troy ounces (2,442 kg) of gold.

It worked the St David's lode of Clogau mountain alongside the co-owned Vigra Mine.

Since 1911 the mine has been re-opened several times for smaller-scale operations.

It last closed in 1998. In 1999 the mine was taken over and held by a local exploration company.

In November 2010 the mine was acquired by a new exploration company, who hope to restore the mine to production.

Within every piece of Clogau jewellery is rare Welsh gold from the Clogau St. David’s Gold Mine in Bontddu (“bont-thee221;). This is undoubtedly one of the rarest, most expensive and most sought-after gold’s in the world.

During the early 20th century, the Clogau mine was Britain’s largest and richest gold mine producing nearly 2.5 tonnes of gold between 1862 and 1911.

For over 150 years, the mine went through mixed fortunes with the gold veins being most inconsistent and difficult to locate.

By the late 1990’s however, the last train carrying Welsh gold from the Clogau mine clanked to a halt. One of the miners at the Clogau mine once said:

Finding gold in most mines around the work is like finding the cream in a sponge cake.

Finding Welsh gold on the other hand is like finding the sixpence in the biggest Christmas cake you could imagine.

There’s no pattern, no logic, and you never know when you’re just inches away.

The gold is there. They just need to find it.

@ColtonRoberts92 I'm staying away from gold right now. No one seems interested in the stuff.

OK i agree with welsh gold being exceptionally valuable.

i suppose my main question is about how much the gold project is worth. if indeed the permits are imminent, and the project is valuable, surely there would be a higher share price?!

The beeb is pretty reliable for accurate content.

Welsh gold at best has had a premium of up to 3 times the price of "common" gold.

ok, but how come the market is attributing no extra value to the share price for the gold project, if the permit is imminent. if the gold project itself is valuable, but it isn't adding value to the share price today, is that saying the market doesn't expect the permit to be granted any time soon?

The Geology of the Gwynedd region is very complex and has been the subject of a number of very well researched reports, this is however the first time that the entire Gold belt has been thoroughly investigated.
• High grade narrow vein mining with extremely high grade pockets with grades of 1000s/100s of ounces of Gold and to a lesser degree Silver to the ton.
• Mean production grades of 15 – 30 grams per ton. Copper credits also prevalent.
• Valuable usable infrastructures in place with secure Adits/Shafts and Chutes still allowing access to much of the old and more recent workings.
• The Gold belt has had minimal exploration over 70% of the licence area. GMOW will explore the known structures and conduct a wider program that intends to exploit the virgin territory.

Welsh Gold carries a premium that can run up to 5 times the international spot price. With much of ‘recorded̵7; production being used to manufacture Jewelry the premium has further increased with almost no pure Welsh Gold available today. That's on the home page of gold mines of wales if someone bothers reading it.

How are you sure the gold is that valuable? Says it all really, no research, no idea what it's all about. Stick to HH valuations and sell @1p/2p if you take the big plunge in buying.

You go ahead Yaj talk yourself out of the investment. Ask the same question at 2p? How about 5p? If "the market" always right, why would you bother being an ind investor?

The average gestation period of an elephant is about 640 to 660 days. Sometimes shares take longer to achieve their true value, sometimes not. Pays yer money, takes yer chances.
