27/5/2015 07:02 | Thanks for that ridicule, I meant has anyone seen or heard any reports from the dubai display how good/bad the diamonds are looking? Also in the last auction the company withdrew alot of diamonds due to low prices but maybe this time there would be more demand from Turkey. | balbains324
26/5/2015 11:31 | Balbains The results of the last Auction came out some time after the end of the month. That said, there is some anticipation buying this morning. | ridicule
26/5/2015 09:32 | Any news on the diamonds? | balbains324
15/5/2015 09:29 | Has anyone heard anything about the diamonds that are on display in Dubai? | balbains324
12/5/2015 07:45 | "Turkish government abolished the import duties om Diamonds" seems to me that everyone is positioning themselves for the potential diamond price increase in the future due to what analysts are saying is going to be a shortage of supply. TURKISH DELEGATION VISITS ANTWERP DIAMOND INDUSTRY 07 May 2015 The Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC) reports on a successful visit of a Turkish delegation of 16 jewelers, wholesalers and manufacturers to Antwerp earlier this week. The visit took place in the framework of the AWDC Antwerp Diamond Visitor Program. The AWDC sees Turkey's potential as "one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and constitutes the gateway to countries in the Black Sea area and Central Asian countries such as Kazachstan and Turkmenistan. These regions represent an estimated 300 million potential consumers," says the AWDC. Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between AWDC, Borsa Istanbul and the Turkish Jewelry Exporters Association last month, AWDC invited a delegation of large and medium-sized Turkish jewelers, wholesalers and manufacturers to network with Antwerp diamond companies. The response by both the Turkish delegation and the 20 Antwerp diamond companies who took part in the event was reportedly very positive. "Just a few months ago, the Turkish government abolished the import duties on diamonds, making it more interesting to increase for trade between Europe and Turkey at competitive prices," says Turkish jeweler Kadir Gözkara from One Service. "Turkish jewelers no longer depend on a handful of wholesalers," he added. Antwerp diamond traders and manufacturers were enthusiastic about the program, which allowed them to meet a range of new potential trading partners and show off their goods in the security of their own offices within the bourse complex. The AWDC says that the Visitor Program was the first time the AWDC invited a group of foreign retailers to Antwerp to bring them in direct contact with a selection of Antwerp diamond companies. "This new approach was clearly successful," says Margaux Donckier, spokesperson for the AWDC. "Bringing potential clients to Antwerp instead of flying a delegation of Antwerp companies to Turkey not only enables us to save time and money. At the same time it allows us to demonstrate Antwerp's unique strengths in terms of quality standards and the level of transparency we uphold to new and upcoming markets." | richie1218
11/5/2015 08:15 | lol maybe bsg, depends how much they invest I would have thought. | richie1218
11/5/2015 07:54 | I would imagine it's too piddly for them to bother with? | bsg
11/5/2015 07:52 | I was thinking about these viewings that start today, surly there must be a confidentiality agreement that the viewers have to sign before viewing? But what is stopping them viewing our diamonds and then making a judgement on value and then if they have a positive view on value, buying shares in our company thinking that there could be an upward movement in the share price | richie1218
07/5/2015 10:07 | Correct, JIMCAR. But larger stones are appearing and if good quality would keep the average at a decent rate. I guess we'll just have to wait a few weeks for the outcome of the auction. | taxislags
07/5/2015 10:06 | Thanks bsg. Just read the April rns and it states gems of up to 10c & 12.6c. It also says that a single 5.5c was sold for 5000USD per carat. That's 27.5k, no? As mentioned they must be pretty decent to be shown in Dubai & Antwerp. | zakspeed
07/5/2015 10:01 | zak... the last sale was 'disappointing' some low quality. "The Company withheld 1,617 carats from the sale as the bid prices were not considered acceptable." | bsg
07/5/2015 09:56 | The $266 is probably a overstatement as it relates to gem quality diamonds. The 13 cpht will include all diamonds extracted. | jimcar
07/5/2015 09:47 | Sorry if I am being dense. Are these gems of inferior quality? Why such a low rate? Are they not auctioning them cut & polished? For 1c plus a ring, you would pay over £8k in the high street. Divide it by 10 and it is still four times the above rate. | zakspeed
07/5/2015 09:42 | Sales around $1m IMHO, if all carats sold. Costs of extraction, etc estimated at $2000 per hundred tonnes. Sales (if ave of $266/carat can be maintained - @ 13cpht) = $3458 per ht IRR of %58 | taxislags
07/5/2015 09:36 | God help us all if Sturgeon and Milliband are left to face down Putin when he makes his next move. I would'nt have to be a Conservative to want Cameron and Haig for that (inevitable) job, and it should be enough to soberbthe thoughts in every voter's mind. Of course the UKIP guys would invite Putin to take over the country, with their Lord Haw Haw approach. | caveat_emptor
07/5/2015 09:32 | I think they are onto something big here because a 12ct diamond is a very good find for a small value company doing trial mining. If we achieve sales of roughly $2 million this time round we are looking at an increase of 4x what we did in Dec. The share price will rocket but not enough to give us shareholders enough value as a takeover will be easy and swift. | balbains324
07/5/2015 09:22 | Thanks TT. Would imagine the gems will by now be cut & polished if they are to be shown in Dubai and Antwerp! Check out GSR who recently found a single 10.65cts during the first week of operation, estimated around 100000USD. They send theirs to India to be cut. They also found 3-4g of gold they weren't looking for on the surface. I rushed and bought in a bit high. It is near 0.2p now. | zakspeed
07/5/2015 09:10 | zakspeed - i was told they tried it with a high value stone, it was ruined. | targatarga
07/5/2015 09:03 | For those who have been here long. Does Stellar cut and polish before the sale? | zakspeed
07/5/2015 07:37 | Check out the recent rns on GSR. also, bought a 0.75cts for the wife last year and it cost me a fortune, although appreciate the whole sale prices. | zakspeed
07/5/2015 07:34 | As a holder here, I hope for the day one sale gets us £50m !! Hope you are right....or even close !! | molatovkid
07/5/2015 07:30 | Quite right, but some as high as 12.6cts. If clear, that alone should be £100k? I have based it on recent find of over 10cts by GSR. | zakspeed
07/5/2015 07:23 | Depends on the quality of the diamonds I would have thought.....and that sounds very high compared to the revenue from the first sale. I think all we can say with certainty it is another step in the right direction for the company. ("Stellar" or the "Company") First Diamond Sales and Revenues Stellar Diamonds plc, the London listed (AIM: STEL) diamond development company focused on West Africa, is pleased to announce that it has sold 4,414 carats of diamonds in Antwerp for gross revenues of US$417,122. The sale included excellent quality white stones, with a value of US$5,000 per carat achieved for one particular five carat stone. | molatovkid
07/5/2015 07:10 | 4439 carats! Cool £50m? | zakspeed |
