22/8/2023 15:23 | Massive upside here. | bri15
22/8/2023 10:48 | Dated 15th August 2023.. excerpts.. Star Energy selling two potential drilling sites in Cheshire Land Registry documents seen by DrillOrDrop show the plots were bought by Star Energy subsidiaries from Grahams Estates Limited more than seven years ago. Both are now being sold by Rostons estates agents as agricultural land at more than £10,000-£12,000 per acre. If both reach the maximum price, Star Energy Group would expect to receive about half a million pounds. There is no publicly-available relinquishment report for PEDL190. DrillOrDrop asked Star Energy to confirm whether it had relinquished or surrendered the licence but the company did not respond. We’ll update this article if the company does reply. Star Energy’s most recent accounts, for 2022, released on 30 March 2023, included PEDL190 as an asset. The group was the licence operator and held a 50% interest, along with Ineos. More recent statements from the company have not referred to PEDL190. | sea7
15/8/2023 08:25 | they have announced that they will transition out of the o and g business and fully focus on their green thermal business. They are in the process of making those assets as attractive as possible by closing off and rehabilitating the most uneconomic wells. that is why the new name is star energy, as it bears no reference to fossil fuels, as was the case of the former name, IGAS. | sea7
15/8/2023 08:18 | Why sell it now, use the cash to get established in their new guise. Then sell it if successful or revert back to o & g if it all goes pear shaped. | bsg
14/8/2023 15:56 | and as star do plan to get out of o and g, the oil assets will be for sale, if not already, a bid could come in any time for them | sea7
14/8/2023 15:12 | SOS - onerio energy very interesting holding waiting to add once back don’t pop in much seems like school hols on this thread atm 🤣 star going to be exciting patience needed but nearly debt free and oil push by end of year will see it at last moving. | theblackbaron
10/8/2023 15:17 | REPOST - hopefully we have normal folk back here :) sea79 Aug '23 - 14:46 - 63 of 83 0 1 0 malcy today Star is going to be an interesting case in coming years as they transition from an oil & gas company to a geothermal one. Having increased expenditure to concentrate on maxing out production from its existing portfolio, production rose by just over 11% on 2022 1H as the run-off of the estate continues. From now on it is going to be a really interesting play, as the statement says the Government white paper calls for joint working on the industry and to ‘move quickly’ to unlock its potential. Star have been an early mover here so I imagine that they will be able to be leaders in the sector in the public sector especially as they have been investing time, money and human resources in it. If not, killing the fatted calf may prove to be a fateful decision, investors will have to decide whether to wait around for the results, something that may take a very long time. The shares are down some 90% since the high earlier this year so it looks like investors would rather watch from the outside. | ashkv

09/8/2023 19:29 | Crude is rallying; we could be back to $90 a barrel. It's 1.6% up. Soon we will be raking 2250 X 90 per day, $202K per day. I wonder if they kept production low because of RBL hedging (having to hedge half); now they are unleashing the pressure. If crude exceeds $100 and higher, they should hedge half again, even if it's no longer required. | finders keepers
09/8/2023 16:10 | yep - they flip flop all over the place | sea7
09/8/2023 15:57 | Funny last year, these idiots were blabbering about fracking. Don't they know it's pointless following the useless idiots in our govt? The purpose is to make money. The useless tools keep changing policies, and that's why the UK is a banana republic, there are no pension funds investing in the UK now, | gonuts1
09/8/2023 15:43 | yep great progress and will be stacking cash at this rate | sea7
09/8/2023 15:42 | 60,000 barrels per month at $85, say half is hedged lower. We are talking about nearly $4.8m, circa £4m. | gonuts1
09/8/2023 15:35 | "This is fantastic progress with maximum uptime from our wells which resulted in production during the latter part of July consistently above 2,250 boepd." I think if they are ramping up to 2250 barrels. That's a lot of money. | gonuts1
09/8/2023 15:29 | Insanity - Star Energy net debt down by 1p per share - and production but share price seeking to goal seek new 52 week lows. INSANITY!! | ashkv |
