11/5/2010 22:38 | Well wolterix no bad thing if number 10 has an involvement is this financial disaster. Maybe they could throw billions of taxpayers money at this mismanaged outfit. I vote that PM stand down and that David Blunkets dog step in as acting MD. Could the dog do any worse? Think about it. No. | lwaxf13

11/5/2010 15:32 | it is possible but they appear to be having some difficulty finding investors so i doubt it. They might however have an ace up their sleeves which would enable something at above or around the price on the day the deal is signed but thats insider dealing which we all know never happens ;-) For me now this share is an out and out gamble if they get the cash then happy days if not then wave your cash goodbye aimo | bulgarianpropertydoteudotcom

11/5/2010 11:22 | Well done again GP but where did it come from as it is factually incorrect. 'Mines and his boardroom colleagues have taken a 30 per cent remuneration cut and are contributing 5 per cent to the present fundraising. The shares, which traded above 4p 10 years ago, now languish at a barely visible 0.20p, valuing the company at £6.2 million, and offer speculative recovery possibilities for the strong-nerved.' They have NOT taken a 30% pay cut. They have agreed to PROPOSE a 30% pay cut IF they get the cash call away and if not then they won't. If you can let me know where it is from I will contact them.Is it PN? | grax
11/5/2010 11:19 | Bioplastics dog Stanelco! not sure they have taken a 30% cut as yet.. | wolterix
11/5/2010 11:16 | Stanelco sees sales growth Article Date: May 11 2010 Bioplastics dog Stanelco is about to launch the open issue element of a £3.5 million funding, intended to take it towards breakeven. Commenting that the discounted funding was 60 per cent pre-placed, chief executive officer Paul Mines points out that half of the fully listed company's (reduced) loss of £2.6 million for 2009 reflected the legal costs of a patent case brought by Italian group Novamont. The French court hearing the case found for Stanelco, though an appeal is not out of the question. Mines, an experienced chemical industry hand recruited in 2007 to drive a new path after the company's original radio frequency technology business failed to thrive, sounds optimistic about prospects for the bioplastics operations which are now its core business. Stanelco, which increased turnover 21 per cent to £17.9 million last year, converts varieties of starch into granules, using a patented process, and sells them to large commercial and industrial concerns, which apply them to make biodegradable and renewable materials for premium-priced 'niche' flexible films, solid articles and coatings. Stanelco, which ended March with £2.4 million cash, says its Biome Bioplastics arm, which sells the granules, achieved 76 per cent sales growth in the first quarter of this year. Mines, who says Stanelco's versatile granules 'can make products degrade in a week or last for years', says sales are strongest in northern Europe, where environmental legislation drives the market, and says he is hopeful about progress in the USA. Mines and his boardroom colleagues have taken a 30 per cent remuneration cut and are contributing 5 per cent to the present fundraising. The shares, which traded above 4p 10 years ago, now languish at a barely visible 0.20p, valuing the company at £6.2 million, and offer speculative recovery possibilities for the strong-nerved. | garypat
11/5/2010 10:50 | just placed my order for a small punt at 0.2p, current buy is at 0.21p lets see if they want my money | bulgarianpropertydoteudotcom
11/5/2010 10:43 | ah! another 'potentially huge' market, they can 'potentially' sell jack in | wolterix
11/5/2010 10:41 | I would have thought that with the whole world of communications moving away from copper to fibre optics this section of the company alone would be worth a punt.V | vaneric
11/5/2010 10:36 | can i be so bold as to sugest that the share price says it all. If this company was thriving and profitability was just a few months away with massive orders about to be approved then the new shares would have been snapped up and the share price would be going up not down. Come on doctor take those foggy glasses off. aimo | bulgarianpropertydoteudotcom |
