I have this in my SIPP. So, Staf will determine whether my retirement is spent luxuriating by the pool or giving fast relief to sailors!

Imagine if we just popped these in our SIPPs and they drifted up to 400p/600p as the recovery played out.....lovely.

Pleased for John09.

Just nibbled a few more here.

Perhaps the recent market euphoria has got to the head.

EDIT: first sign of significant movement

Apparently L&G were selling other holdings. They are keeping this price as it is. Once they are down to nil this will re-rate.

plenty of volume again today. Question is: is it bad that someone is selling or is it good that someone is buying?

if we look back at the 2 spikes we had (June and late August I think) this was probably caused by a lack of any free stock to meet a modest increase in demand. if the recently traded shares end up in "safe" hands then this could happen again

Please excuse long post, but let's examine this. Dealy is correct that volume has ballooned. But the shares have BARELY MOVED over the period. That SHOULD mean that buyers and sellers were EASILY matched. But if there was a sudden jump in sellers how come there was a sudden and EQUAL jump in buyers. I think that given the size of the volume surge and the non-movement in price it is reasonable to assume that the matching is not coming from the MM acting as a simple conduit between sellers and buyers in the market on the day.
IF we accept that, then the big question is: why are the MMs, who for a stock this size fully determine the price, prepared to keep that price steady under these conditions. Possible conclusion: they must either be absorbing the excess sellers for their book, or if there are excess buyers they have an agreement to tap equity from an agreed seller. If the former, then why are they taking the risk of holding an increasing exposure to the stock - perhaps they are very confident of offloading at a higher price. Why is that so? If it's the latter, why aren't they letting the price move lower in response........
Of course, all this is moot if we accept that the increase in volume has been readily matched and the shares have shrugged off the better micro and macro news. I am sceptical of that explanation....but then I can't be very clever because I bought this in the first place!!!
