Countrywide estate agency subject to a bidding war right now. Similar to Staffline in that its market cap is so low compared to its revenue and footprint. In the case of Staffline we are talking about only option value currently priced in.

Just when you think a seller has been cleared another one arrives. Well, it gives an opportunity to another institution who might want to step in after Thursday's presentation. They can call L&G

Someone in the know who knows his investment wont go pop and probably at least doubles his money in no time. Averages 30p approx. He sells to HRNet 80p+.... very good profit.

Thesloth, you are right. It probably means they are buying on behalf of a wealthy client. But who? And why?

Why would Henry Spain be in Head to Head Battle with HRNet for a takeover? HS are investment/pension/inheritance advisers to private clients (probably locally) in Leicestershire.

Not been keen on this company but we must have noted the absolute barrage of takeovers recently with CDM Friday evening and CWD today adding to the ever growing list. You even have speculation on the likes of AML, RTN and CINE. Some of it is clearly optimistic.

Nonetheless so much corporate activity it's hard to not speculate who else might be in the firing line. Will be keeping a closer eye on this one. Clearly the market is happy to exchange down here in size with a big buyer in the market being matched by a big seller atm.

I think institutions like the idea of investing directly into companies so that their money also strengthens the balance sheet. But these options are not always available . Many companies have done placings this year and often the shares have risen (de la rue, Asos, Ted Baker etc)
