It drop to 700p or so not too long ago. Pump it and dump it for any shares by MM. Hence was 1700p 18 months ago as mentioned here.

One issues unlikely to go away is the pressure on fees charged and the bad publicity that causes.

With FUM over £150bn, and something like 25% of all UK authorised advisers, SJP must be attractive at this price as a bid target for someone trying to enter the UK wealth market......

The only problem will be that the management are sure to rebuff any approach with the old "this bid undervalues our business" tripe. Just like Wood Group recently rebuffing a £2.40 bid after which the bidder walked away and the shares fell back to £1.40..
