I think if you wait for £8.50 ex div you might be disappointed. I reckon they'll turn back upwards before ex div date and power towards £10. Expect ex div price to be £9.50+....

SJP's business model means that they don't declare a full profit for a client for the first six years as the 1% annual product fee instead offsets their initial cost for this period and is not income as such.

So a significant portion of their £157bn FUM isn't yet churning out profits - but it will do as the clients roll past six years. Essentially, there is a significant 'profit lag'....

It can be if you time it right. SJP shares have proven quite volatile in recent years. Swinging three, four, five pounds. Good trading share really if you timing is peachy. And the dividends at 5% to boot.

These may fall under £8 but a swing back upwards is more likely now than further significant falls. If ever there was a time for filling ones boots it is probably now.....
