Patience will be rewarded with this share. Bought in 3 years ago @£1.00 and it pays a decent dividend. Wont set the world alight but it's reliable.

A positive write-up and a strong 'Buy' recommendation in today's IC online. Will also appear in this week's printed edition on Friday.

Lots of buying activity today on the back of results. Hopefully will hit 200 tomorrow and then stabilise around 210ish next week.

Lord Gnome - I agree the accounts aren't the easiest to analyse. Note 3 in the results provides a summary of non-underlying items which have been excluded from the adjusted profits and adjusted EPS. Some of these adjustments look questionable in my opinion eg. redundancy costs, increase in deferred consideration.

For what its worth I tend to focus on Cashflow for SIV, as comparisons with previous years is difficult due to acquisitions they've made. From the current cashflow statement you can see that FCF per share is around 15.5p, which means the divi is well covered and if they stop making acquisitions the debt should also start to come down.

Of course, building looks good. As long as the need for change is not so rapid that a never-ending need for acquisitions starts to hit the balance sheet too hard.

As St Ives has become a kind of conglomeration of businesses, there is some strength, too, in diversity.

At the moment things look OK imo. But management cannot rest...

I got my increased divi, but I must admit to being a bit concerned at the difference between the statutory figures and the 'adjusted' figures. I'm still looking at the results to try to find an explanation. Can anyone on here give me a clue, please? Debt figures up, but as expected. Management are clearly continuing to build a good business here, but it will be some time before it shows on the bottom line.

Good to see a bit of buying ahead of tomorrow's numbers. I think any break above 190 will depend upon what we learn tomorrow.

No idea on fundamentals but it has broken support on the chart, that may be the explanation.
