23/9/2012 17:20 | You might have a lot more upside left before a pullback, it's difficult to gauge as from my experience pm equities often go far lower than you ever expected and far higher than you ever thought possible. In respect of Sandstorm even if you got the timing out a bit you'll still make a very healthy profit and yes when the dividends come so will every fund manager out there looking for an easy return so he can beat the rush to the The Hamptons for the weekend. The premium this stock has the potential of carrying in a few years could end up being ridiculous. | yikyak
23/9/2012 10:40 | I see what you mean! But I too often hold for years so hopefully it's less important exactly where you get in. I'm hoping that a dividend will not be too far off. | rrr
22/9/2012 22:10 | rrr, I think that's quite brave because you are looking for an extension on this run. I find it's better to be buying pm equities when others are puking up their pm positions in disgust. That said, I'm not an active trader and tend to hold for years once I make a purchase. | yikyak
22/9/2012 16:07 | I bought my first yesterday, I hope not at the top... slight pullback ok as long as it's only temporary! | rrr
22/9/2012 14:14 | Wow SSL closed up another 7% yesterday and a new all time high. Unfortunately, I had my finger on the trigger to buy more but didn't. Would love a slight pullback | jimbowen30
21/9/2012 21:09 | Luvley jubbly :-) | yikyak
20/9/2012 22:52 | Well lets hope so eh! I'm not sure I want to many of the Mr 'He can do no wrong' interviews as the higher the market builds a person up the harder the stockprice will get hit if he hits a blip........this is the mining sector afterall! I want to see cracking deals, not interviews although I do appreciate a certain amount of promotion is needed.. | yikyak
20/9/2012 21:51 | interview with SSL CEO Nolan Watson. obviously very talented to be in the top 40 under 40 Canadians. | jimbowen30
20/9/2012 15:51 | Sandstorm Gold's P/E is c. 50, Franco-Nevada's (FNV) about 480-500. Is this a useful measure and why would they be so different? FNV pays a dividend, Sandstorm Gold does not; but then Silver Wheaton (SLW) does and the P/E is 24.7. FNV's and SLW's dividends are both about 1%. | rrr
20/9/2012 15:36 | Could have broken out of it's trading range, we'll know soon enough. | yikyak
20/9/2012 10:13 | Yik - I'd love a pullback to buy some more. Yesterday's deal looks very good and it's a bigger deal than previous ones. I agree that it's a buy and hold for 3-5 years, especially if you believe in the outlook for gold. The deal with Luna gold is still a hefty part of their profits but this will come down to around 20% in 12 months according to Nolan | jimbowen30
20/9/2012 09:31 | I got the warrants first (2014exp) last year and then added some normal stock a couple of months after. It is quite pricey now, however, the hedge funds ain't messing with the stock and it's moves seem already mapped out and fully under control. Judging by the last raising it certainly has the support. I have to say it's one of those stocks that I feel really comfortable with................ As you say jim, it should be a steady earner and is a good place to park heavier monies. That said a stream that goes bad could knock the confidence bubble/premium that surrounds Nolan, however, following Royal Coal a repeat is far less likely imho. | yikyak
18/9/2012 19:40 | Jim - yes, I understand the model well and hold SLW and FNV for precisely those reasons. Chip | chipperfrd
18/9/2012 16:54 | Chip - this is one of the best gold stocks around imo and will appreciate conservatively by 20-30% pa. The management is first rate and it's very much an early stage Franco Nevada/Royal Gold. It's the sort of stocks that institutions will crave imo as SSL are not exposed to rising cost pressure | jimbowen30
18/9/2012 14:29 | If anyone wants different header chart ranges let me know, but hope these two will suffice. I didn't use the findata longer-term chart as it is not adjusted for the stock split, so looks like below, which seems less helpful. Happy to change if there's a general wish though. Whichever you choose they are all heading in the same satisfactory direction! | rrr
18/9/2012 14:23 | You are welcome. I have added this board to my favourites and may well buy into the SSL story. They have already helped one of my stocks (RMM) get into first production - so I do know how their model works. Chip | chipperfrd
18/9/2012 14:18 | Chip, I think from looking at the html that yours is the warrants, hence the different units on the y-axis, so I have removed it. Thanks for all your help. rrr | rrr
18/9/2012 13:49 | Chip, thank you so much, that's excellent. I've added another; just seen need check on the units on each. Wonder what currency yours is in. rrr | rrr
18/9/2012 10:54 | I also had problems with BigCharts I'm afraid. Chip | chipperfrd
18/9/2012 10:53 | Candlestick version. | chipperfrd
18/9/2012 10:35 | rrr - will that version do? | chipperfrd
18/9/2012 10:33 | Your post not posted fully Chip. | rrr
