2012 annual report:

Price is back below recent placing (excl warrants).

I like the model but not sure of the value at this price.

Charts seemed stuck so I have replaced and will see if these update or not. They are for SAND on NASDAQ (same company, different market).

jim

Many thanks for the write up.

Was about to pick some up the other month .....got distracted on other things and then noticed they had jumped....managed to leave them alone at those levels but kept them on watch....took the plunge with a couple thousand shares on Thursday at $11.50....so hoping now for a good Xmas gold rally.

All the best

No problem Yik. It was a pretty powerful talk and I managed to have a quick chat with Nolan afterwards. I asked if he envisaged SSL doing more platinum deals (after Collosus) but he said he felt more new streams would be gold and a few silver ones. I feel that SSL are in a great space because they are not competing for streams from larger companies. I also spoke to the Mutiny CEO who seems quite confident their resource would grow strongly

The one think I forgot to mention is that he said in the talk Nolan said he thought SSL's sister company, Sandstorm Metals and Energy would perform even better and grow to become a larger company in the longer term. I'm not sure what you time period this means but something to consider. At the moment I think Nolan is putting maximum effort into SSL as this is where the interest is.

I attended mines and money this week to hear Nolan's talk. It was titled "why mine financing as you know it is dead" so a very powerful statement! He highlighted how tough it is to build a mine on time and budget and apparently only 22% of companies hit the target as this is six months before they say they will be in production. The market cap of the streamers has grown from 0 in 2004 to $27bn in 2012! He envisages 10-20 streaming companies in the next ten years - there are currently four. He also believes private equity will get involved and hundreds of billions will be invested in the sector over this time. Streams are less dilutive than equity and less risky than debt to the mining companies who enter the streaming contracts. He is keen for the industry to involve and said Sandstorm will be looking at other forms off capital(debt and equity) and not just doing streams. Ultimately, the quality of the project is the most important thing, with potential for growth in resources. The Mutiny deal looks goods and very few streams have been done by Australian miners to date. Exciting times for Sandstorm.....

I'm no charting guru, hope nobody minds me dumping SSL charts on here?

It's nice to see the MACD so low, it could mean we could be in for quite a surge when it next runs.

ppt - plunge protection team, or governments/feds cough, splutter 'market stability' arm. In respect of SSL it looks as though the algos have simply taken it back to retest it's support. Sometimes this can be done with the nod of management and in the loop brokers, if so I would expect some news within the next few weeks to confirm support and then move onwards and upwards.

Sandstorm mentioned here. I'm not sure if the PE is correct but most analysts value gold streamers/royalties companies on a Price/cashflow multiple
