31/10/2014 16:39 | Never mind £16 ; I won't part with mine for less than £18. | wad collector
30/10/2014 18:16 | Given the way that Wall Street is powering ahead this evening, I think we might just see £16 quicker than I thought. Bring it on! | lord gnome
30/10/2014 15:52 | Pushing for £16. Don't think the Scottish vote has unwound itself here either... | zcaprd7
30/10/2014 08:31 | No, but the pressure on them ,or their successors , mounts. They keep ignoring it , and looking for winning some votes by cutting prices , but ultimately they will have to face it. I see IC has SSE as a Sell last week , citing regulatory uncertainties and dividend sustainability. A reasonable point of view , if it was not discounted already.... | wad collector
29/10/2014 19:50 | wad Do you have any faith in the will, or the ability, of the current crop of politicians to apply common sense to the subject? | redartbmud
29/10/2014 15:51 | There has been some highlighting of supply issues on the Grid again this weekend ; this puts more pressure on the politicians to support the industry. Good for SSE share price I think. | wad collector

29/9/2014 16:45 | I don't think there is any mention of that in the link above - the main point that will potentially affect our buying/selling strategies is :- "As a result of the move to T+2 settlement market participants are also reminded that Ex Dividend dates will move to Thursdays with Record dates remaining as Fridays. " | skinny
29/9/2014 16:28 | The end of paper certificates? | redartbmud
29/9/2014 16:15 | Just a reminder - T2 is coming in from 6th October :- . | skinny
29/9/2014 16:13 | Many thanks Skinny, I always thought it was at close on the quoted date, but Ive never known Halifax to get it wrong, so far anyway! | stpalm
29/9/2014 15:57 | You had to have bought before the close on Tuesday 22nd to have been eligible for the dividend. Zcaprd7 - A couple of and possibly reinvestment of dividends? | skinny
29/9/2014 15:48 | Hi guys, i bought on 23rd july, as far as i was aware xd was at close of business on 23rd july but just checked and found no div payment. So should i have received it? | stpalm
24/9/2014 14:38 | Large volume a few days ago. What was that? | zcaprd7
23/9/2014 11:58 | In comparison with the water industry , I think the electricity sector holds a significant ace up it's sleeve. Any Government cannot afford to let the supply fail. They need continuing investment in an ageing and tenous network , they cannot afford to risk disinvestment from a private sector. They need to keep the supply and grid companies happy enough to continue risking further investment. So their room to squeeze the sector further is limited. Re-nationalisation is unthinkable to any but deluded lefties. So a bright future remains here by my reading. I hold a fair number of SSE , but would happily pick up some more if there is further weakness. | wad collector
19/9/2014 13:16 | red / gbb in the political sense I agree entirely. There will be major changes and I predict some major political fallout to go with them. Only English MPs should be voting on English matters. More devolution all round, please. Perhaps we might actually get a bit of localism at long last. Why should the Scots have all the fun. | lord gnome

19/9/2014 10:39 | Things have to change. There are too many people who will not forget the promises given by the triumvirate of fear. | micos
19/9/2014 10:28 | It's never "business as usual" : there is nothing permanent except change. | gbb483
19/9/2014 08:18 | LG It will never be business as usual again. things have changed fundamentally in the Government/Political arena. red | redartbmud
19/9/2014 08:16 | Thank you Scotland. Business as normal. | lord gnome
18/9/2014 14:06 | Price going up just in time to buy with my dividend! Does it every time. | willsy50
18/9/2014 13:53 | The price is remarkably resilient considering the potentially seismic goings-on today. For goodness sake, the R&A might vote to let women in ! | pumph
17/9/2014 23:03 | Maybe it will be a hung result with ten recounts so we don't know the results till Monday since a ballot box can't be collected from an outer Hebredean island ! lol Just joking . Heaven forbid . | harvester |
