Not often that SSE has produced such a downbeat update; let us hope that it is not the first in a series of profit warnings.

Trading update did not look too good this morning. Wind generation is down, hydro is down 20% ,domestic gas demand is down around 10% ,so operating profits down £80 mil . Dry still warm weather has been characterised by high gas prices which resulted in higher cost prices and less usage

jrphoenixw2 - I update the header and assure you it is accurate as taken directly from the SSE website - the link to the SSE Financial Calendar is also in the header if you want to check accuracy!

I have a folder on my desktop with all relevant company web sites from where it is simple to access their financial calendars.

Energy stocks are taking a beating US and now Asia on the back of the oil price drop. Hope we stay clear and have a great day.

I tend to have more confidence in the information provided on the company’s investor relations page. Having said that there are so many sources nowadays it’s easy to cross check. I have a calendar on my computer and book important dates like xdiv/trade update and results there.

Yep agreed in part. I have previously looked at the headers, but wonder who updates it? Who is to say it's accurate on any given day? I always err to going to the source. The headers might have wider use ('credibility') if more was known about their source and how they are compiled/maintained.

That's E+EO, but 95+% should be correct. [I say now feeling rather on the spot]. Amazing how bloody hard it is to keep tabs on what is happening /when eh? You'd have thought this info would be so simple/uniform/accurate....

Dividends next week 66p. Plus looks like demerging the business will go through soon . If there is no political upheavals then we should have a nice run up.
