30/3/2017 08:30 | Good for the order book and maybe some imminent cashflow (if an up front deposit payment involved) but unlikely to be significant revenue in the last two days of FY! The next update (within a few weeks?) indicative of 2016/17 outcome will be critical. They must already have a very good idea and seeing that good figures add up so much more easily than bad ones any delay will not help the share price | boadicea
30/3/2017 08:23 | Not too concerned now with this year's figures, as we have another "biggie" in the bag. ST will put a gloss on it all anyway. | philjeans
30/3/2017 08:23 | We done to everyone at SRT. It will be interesting to see what revenue visibility will be for FY 2018 now this has been signed. Looks like FinnCap will have something to shout about in their initiation note whenever it appears. | eagle eye
30/3/2017 08:22 | Yes, I'm pretty sure that a Middle Eastern country would sign up the contract, because SRT told them they needed it signing quick, because of the forthcoming figures. Back in the real world... it is possible to sign a contract before the value is established. I got one once as a result of offering something good... capability established... margins agreed... "that will allow you to get started on preparation and estimates" or something like that I recall. Or it is just confidential. Unless a fly on the wall, nobody will know why. | yump
30/3/2017 07:58 | Gamesaver? | srtshare2
30/3/2017 07:58 | If it's going to take two years to complete, it must be considerably more than a few boxes shipped. | goodapple
30/3/2017 07:58 | it says transceivers through monitoring so it's the whole package. So it's one of the 4 ME pipeline numbers. Doesn't really matter which one at this stage. | kinbasket
30/3/2017 07:52 | The validated sales opportunities listed 4 ME possibilities at $30m, $20m, $30m and $15m. Not sure why the RNS doesn't give the value. Isn't this the game changer? | trident5
30/3/2017 07:51 | MDM systems cost a few bob but i think it maybe just a cover up move for the dire full year figures. Positive news all the same. | srtshare2
30/3/2017 07:50 | Just permitted myself to have a small portion of 'the jam' on my toast. Very nice too. | goodapple
30/3/2017 07:48 | Clarkey26. I agree. Clearly good news, but £1m, £5m more? Hopefully ST will clarify. I understand his point about confidentiality and approach with the Indonesian contract, not giving regular financial updates, but this is, on the face of it, a new contract, so what is the reason we can't have a minimum figure announced? | 2vdm
30/3/2017 07:40 | Yes all coming together and another demonstration of the potential to be realised going forward for those that are prepared to wait. Also hopefully a sign that the pace will start to pick up as momentum builds. No financials disclosed re this deal though. | clarkey26
30/3/2017 07:35 | Although the timing of the announcement is just about a miracle and very welcome why have no figures been announced??? Presumably the extent of turnover for year ended 31st March 2017 is still in doubt. | dolores123
30/3/2017 07:27 | I'd prefer to choose exactly what was done with the humble pie... | yump
30/3/2017 07:27 | Wake up guys! It's here! | philjeans
30/3/2017 07:26 | 30 March 2017 SRT MARINE SYSTEMS PLC (AIM: SRT) ("SRT" or the "Company") SRT signs MDM contract SRT Marine Systems plc is pleased to announce that it has entered into a contract to deliver a national MDM system for a Middle East country. The system will enable continuous real time identification, tracking and monitoring of many thousands of leisure and commercial vessels operating in their territorial waters and EEZ using SRT's AIS vessel transceivers and maritime monitoring systems. The system is expected to be completed within two years. Simon Tucker, SRT CEO said, "This marks the conversion of another of our validated sales opportunity pipeline prospects into a signed contract. This is due to SRT's ability to deliver turn-key maritime domain awareness system solutions with proven performance and unique functionality. This MDM system will provide multiple end customer marine stakeholders with a range of functionality such as dual 2D and Dynamic-3D real time visualisation, advanced data analytics with automated vessel activity alerts, and vessel licensing and management functions that will enable them to significantly enhance maritime security, management and safety." | philjeans
30/3/2017 07:25 | Great news! I wonder what our resident harbinger of doom has to say about this? A proper adult would admit that they made a wrong call and eat the humble pie in public. OD | obiterdicta
30/3/2017 07:10 | Very well done to anyone who bought more at this level. I chickened out as wife said why have you so many shares in SRT ? A well deserved poke in the eye for some. | yump
30/3/2017 07:08 | BINGO! and worth the wait. | philjeans
29/3/2017 11:27 | ah, time must blur the memory somewhat, it was actually for $18m, still substantial, although I got the dates about right, it was 3rd Sept 2009. | the prophet
29/3/2017 11:14 | There was an order from China going back in time for £19m that subsequently got cancelled. It will be in the RNS news list, I guess about 7 or 8 years ago. | the prophet
29/3/2017 10:45 | Not how I remember it Dolores. I think they had an exclusive supply agreement and decided to end it. The RNS (below) in March 2011 mentions broadening the customer base which is how I recall the event being described. It's a distant memory so I may be wrong but I have no recollection of £19M. Care to provide more information? Orders from Chinese Customers Software Radio Technology plc ("SRT" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received orders from two Chinese customers totalling US$ 300,000. The orders are for SRT's Class B products and are destined to fill demand from local authorities which are fitting AIS to their fishing fleets. China is in the process of building the world's largest AIS network to cover up to 550,000 vessels which are planned to be fitted with an AIS device by 2015. Simon Tucker said, "Last year we recognised that the China market opportunity was bigger than we expected and took action to broaden our customer base. These orders are the first we have seen from these new customers and given the market opportunity we expect to see more in the future.' | alter ego
29/3/2017 09:16 | Some years ago srt cancelled a 19 million pound contract for China thinking they could do better - a big mistake in retrospect. | dolores123
29/3/2017 09:07 | Good article yesterday in FT (full page) on Chinese over fishing | countryman5
29/3/2017 00:59 | yes, that's SRT for you,.... so predictable ...and boringly repetitive!! | hjb1 |
