AE possibly a little patronising? I posted not because me selling was of importance but to pint out a considered move in the risk return equation. My sale was part of a move to increase overall portfolio liquidity and one of a number of sales. There is so much macro uncertainty that I felt index moves here and elsewhere had moved ahead of the global economic outlook. Could well be wrong but taking wrapped profits seemed prudent. In my career, starting out as an economist, I managed pension funds, reviewed the banks largest exposures and managed some of my banks largest clients. Thats why i felt a little patronised! |
Wizard2020 your reasons for selling shares is perfectly reasonable but does telling the rest of us add anything to our collective knowledge about SRT? Many boards on ADVFN are littered with meaningless "I bought", "I sold" messages. Some I suspect are not even true. None helps me decide if I want to buy or sell. I suspect it's based more on personal circumstances and how the company is doing. The share price is just one factor and everyone has their own view as to whether it is at the correct level.
It's good to hear that you are a long time investor so "a quick buck" isn't warranted in your case. |
I wonder how many holders have shares outside an ISA or SIPP and are wondering when its “safe” to bed & isa or similar. Is 60p+ a mini sell-off price? |
Air traffic control is a news item because of recent tragic US events. ST often likens MDA and Geovs to air traffic control for shipping. Obviously ships travel at slower speeds so monitoring shipping is not so critical. However, there are certain shipping lanes which are very busy and where Geovs and DAS would be beneficial. I guess that it needs a few serious incidents to make things happen. |
It is all about opinions and our individual decisions. That is what makes the free market.I just want as much knowledge as possible I helping me make my decisions, plus the chart Trend. |
@Wizard2020 - Thanks for your useful response - as the share price hovers around the all-time high which has come and gone on a few occasions.
I first dipped my toe into "Software Radio Technology PLC" in March 2012. A few years ago I posted something about the SRT prospects saying "should I live long enough".
So there may be others here who, as well as considering your advice, are also looking up the average life expectancy table :)
I was impressed by the company back then and still am - through the ups and the downs, they treat shareholders as partners and allies - and as "Grown-ups". Still a rarity in this cynical world. Thank you ST and SRT team.
And the quality of this Board demonstrates the efficacy of their approach.

Thanks for the set of investment cliches.
The share price in no way reflects the prospects, but who cares what my amazing conclusion is, without any backup reasoning, without a timescale, without, well just about everything apart from my highly respected anonymous opinion. |
Hi AE. Me trimming my holding is exactly about long term prospects on a risk reward point of view. There has been a significant improvement in SRT's prospects but the share price reflects that. As someone who has been involved in the markets since 1971 the biggest mistake is to be emotionally involved. I have been invested in SRT for over a decade - not really 'a quick buck'. Any analysis of long term prospects has to be judged against the share price movement. I am still an investor and a fan based on analysis and some of the great posts on this forum but I favour balance - it has been said no-one went bust taking profits and incidentally through trading SRT over the years I am on zero base cost. |
Google ' em-trak X100' and you will see lots of stockists around the world who have the literature but not (yet) the item itself in stock.
I enquired of one of them yesterday when they expected the X100 to be available. They responded that they would contact the manufacturer for an update and let me know. This they duly did and said they could expect delivery next week or the following week.
It would seem therefore that SRT have sorted the software glitch and are ready to dispatch.
As soon as this happens we can expect to see lots of reaction and column inches in relevant publications. I have every faith that ST's vision and drive will have resulted in another SRT product which sets the pace for others to follow. Well done to all involved.
Should provide more support for the strengthening share price |
Or use the filter button, clears out the noise. |
please can we avoid the bane of other ADVFN boards which is people posting about their trades. I think most of us here are more interested in the long term prospects of SRT than in making a quick buck. Just saying... |
Didn’t do anything yesterday or today. |
Trimmed holding this morning |
Added once again earlier this week. Continued long term rise should see SRT join FTSE AIM top 50 index, which then gets it on radar of wider audience
We're currently bigger mcap than IQE which is in AIM 50 so we're in the right ballpark for promotion |
This has taken a dark turn… |
That's a great tax-saving tip! |
Remember CGT dies with you. |
Or you die within seven years and pay CGT and IHT... |
that echo has returned |
When will we leave AIM ? |
When will we leave AIM ? |
ATH is probably the resistance, although it wouldn’t be if charting had never been invented and promoted by snake oil salesmen, as its an irrelevant price. |
ATH coming up |
so called 60p resistance has gone I see. |
Is now the time to pass on your SRT shares to your heirs and start the clock ticking on the seven year rule? will the good lady increase it to ten years? If you transferred a month ago your CGT bill would be a lot less than today. However, if you are planning on a gift the CGT might soon be a lot more. |
