Or has IMEMS ground to a halt? |
Why ? Are you thinking of buying into some of them ? |
supern - Very fair comment but with AIM listings too many for comfort turnout to be the downside or short term rockets such as AGL -SCE - SED etc burn out and need refueling or sent to the Carey Street if no more fuel made available.
Now the $64K question - Which are likely to be the next companies to burn out? |
Don't know that any of that makes much sense - all companies have if's. Fortunately, because if they didn't there'd be no market. |
Also IF's and WISHES...
"If "ifs" and "ands" were pots and pans, There'd be no work for tinkers' hands. Also: If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.
So possibly back to Shanks Pony - bye bye that nice new Ferrari. |
As always Yump, the key word is IF with this company-like a lot in my portfolio unfortunately |

FWIW, Reaching boiling point in the South China Seas or still further to go?
Report: China Coast Guard Stole Two Philippine Boats, Dumped Cargo, |
Never mind. If SRT shows any signs of being consistently profitable, it will be taken out by one of the US venture or hedge funds. There may be quite a big proportion of pi shareholders, but given a bit of profit they won’t vote against. There’s no EU style protection. “UK is open for business” is a euphemism for “see anything you fancy ? - we’ll knock off 20% for a quick sale” |
I take it you mean Balance Sheet there....and not taurine excrement. These days, you can't be too careful as to what folk mean.

In summary, three profit warnings in quick succession-as CM suggested, ‘part of the journey’.Warnings are usually down to either missing reasonable targets or missing overegged targets.Either way, it’s not a good look.
I really hope they aren’t looking at another visit to the shareholder well. The loan facility has financial covenants which must be under pressure and that cash raise recently won’t last forever.
As I said the other day, let’s see the BS to end June. |

The problems in the Philippines started about three years ago when the illegal fishermen bribed a regional judge, who is well known for his support for illegal fishing, to conclude that tracking fishing vessels was unconstitutional. These same people instigated the 'investigation' which started a couple of years ago and was known about on this board then.
Legal problems like these are only relevant to the country in question, i.e. the Philippines and the worst outcome for SRT is that they will do no further business there. But it is clearly political in the Philippines.
The main cause of the share price decline from 60p to 30p has been SRT not starting new contracts and nothing to do with this matter. |
...furthermore...such a situation may cause even greater delay on implementation and commitment by other governments...at least until it is cleared up, one way or the other... |
As far as I am concerned, the share price was about 30p with a revenue forecast taking account of these potentials now listed. The situation, therefore, has not changed...actually the update on real revenue is well below what was expected. Then came the legal problems in Philippines and people (including me) started selling, causing a 33% collapse in share price
Legal problems like these are dangerous, however much optimism is portrayed by the company, or however much it is politically motivated.
The update, in my opinion, was even worse than anticipated then; the investigation is still where it was.
Therefore, all this discussion about expectations on the revenue side have not changed. From that base, the investigation caused serious misgivings by many.
The recent rise in share price is totally unfounded, simply because nothing has changed to the situation when that investigation was recorded and there was a decline.
Hardly any discussion is taking place on this, that caused that original collapse, not even by the company in its update.
I am glad that I sold out then, and I won.t be purchasing again, until this matter has some finality. |
Number 9 on losers list on lowest volume for 5 days or short term profit taking - or general pre-election nerves or unfortunate news leaking.
Looks like the 100,000 sell for 28.1p at 8:07am started the rot, (check the timing it is a sell (imo) and as a late post the alogro wrongly attributed it a a buy) |
Odd selling today-anyone got a view? |
Yump-it’s blindingly obvious that companies with global ambition need local personnel and infrastructure to deliver in difficult foreign jurisdictions-customers will demand it.That plus the fact SRT relies heavily on tapping up individual shareholders on a frequent basis must mean something to you?
Get off your high horse-it’s not a good look |
Pinkfoot
“Global players need global management”
Now what ? Have you swallowed a book of management cliches ?
So where EXACTLY is the problem with SRT’s infrastructure ?
Sometimes when you haven’t got anything relevant or useful to say, its best to not say anything. It just looks ridiculous.
I’m putting you on on filter now as I can see you just want to appear to know something to show your city experience, but its getting ridiculous. |
Yump
It’s not just about cash. Its also about management infrastructure.Global players need global management.
SRT has done amazingly well to survive given the trauma over the years-supported by an incredibly loyal shareholder base.As pointed out, there is only one system in place so far-Bahrain.Lets hope ST has found this loyalty humbling because a succession of profit warnings is not a good look, made more palatable by the well used carrot and stick |
This helps explain China's tactics |
Yumyum
I think the alternative to ST attempting to forecast is to just say “I don’t know” and see how that goes down with investors. What is the alternative set of announcements ? |
FT today. The Philippines faces an ‘existential threat’ from Beijing,s threats in the contested South China Sea. Marcos this week told troops in the north to prepare for ‘any eventuality’. |
The recent gallery photo was of Japanese company Sealite. Internet. Research shows numerous companies making buoys, but only SRT providing ATONs. I believe that the recent webcast mentioned a large potential contract. I think there was also mention of the margin on DAS. |
