07/2/2014 12:34 | Ooops - wouldn't want to breach etiquette! Key points then: Positive - AIM admission likely to open shares up to demand from funds prevented from investing when on ISDX - new French legislation opens up a significant new source of demand - existing German legislation has already shown this - significant barriers to entry - innovative products (mention reduction in nuisance activations, vibration alerts for the deaf, misting for the disabled) - good prospective PEs for 2014/15 - no debt - dividend yield likely 5% for 2014 Risks (Shares') - FX due to USD products vs 1/3 sales in EUR - uncertainty around Jarden relationship - gross margins falling Risks (mine) - Chinese manufacturing (witness dodgy plastic in all Aston Martins!) - IR part of website pretty shocking - big adjustment even to AIM standards - manufacturing reliance on Jarden - CEO apparently says sales relationship independent from manufacturing one but can they actually be in reality? | wilfy75
07/2/2014 12:17 | wilfy- its ''etiquette'' to hold any paid for articles off the BB for a few days or else you run the risk of the wrath of Investors who have paid for the info. Just IMO | pj 1
07/2/2014 12:08 | Does anyone know how to post photos / pdfs to these threads? Happy to share the Shares story that way if I can! | wilfy75
06/2/2014 20:33 | Give it a few weeks, then another article in Investors Chronicle (which I believe probably has a larger readership than Shares Mag) would keep the pot bubbling away nicely. Raised PI awareness along with increased II interest from funds would be welcome. | speedsgh
06/2/2014 19:51 | I wondered what had caused the flurry of purchases today. Hopefully a new breed of long term investors. | the big fella
06/2/2014 16:55 | if can reach around 200p area prior to the move, it would give a lovely platform to launch on to AIM. with the level of dividend i can see strong interest in this when it moves. | speedsgh
06/2/2014 16:50 | Yep up to 172/175, roll on the AIM listing.. | battlebus2
06/2/2014 14:45 | Looks like the Shares Mag article has maybe triggered today's uptick. | jakedog2
06/2/2014 09:38 | PJ - email on its way to you. TIA. | speedsgh
06/2/2014 09:26 | The start of that Shares Mag article is a real teaser. "A debt-free, cash-rich dividend payer with huge legislative drivers for its products is set to join Aim from the more illiquid ISDX market in May. We expect significant market interest in smoke alarm specialist Sprue Aegis (SPRP:ISDX) as many..." Almost tempted to subscribe to get the whole article but having previously subscribed to the magazine for a while I shall be resisting the temptation. I'm sure there's nothing new in the article (although I see that they are stating May for the move to AIM) but it will certainly help to bring the company to a wider audience which cannot be a bad thing. | speedsgh
06/2/2014 08:37 | cnx 4 Feb'14 - 17:44 - 626 of 629 I spoke to the FD a few Months ago. He mentioned Europe in general as a target Market, especially Spain. There have been some awfully sad holiday incidents in Spain where Fire alarms were not fitted, so both Italy and Spain are targets but restricted by the current financial situation. Off the top of my head I would have thought Spain is a much larger Market than France? | pj 1
06/2/2014 08:31 | Won't be under the Radar for many more Months | pj 1
06/2/2014 08:26 | Thanks PJ1 | battlebus2
06/2/2014 08:25 | Sharesmag running an article but I do not subscribe | pj 1
03/2/2014 14:50 | Checkers...now if I was Business man ;-) | pj 1
03/2/2014 14:31 | I live in Italy, interestingly you can't buy smoke alarms here.... | checkers2
03/2/2014 14:20 | Recently I bought a NEST smoke alarm, and then the day after the company was bought by Google. Nest was created by an ex-apple employee and I think will be a major playor in home smart devices that you can connect to via your smartphone. I have a feeling that this industry is going to be turned on its head in the next few years. | checkers2

20/1/2014 14:54 | Welcome jake, I think you'd find it difficult to buy (or sell ) online even if they did show up. I always have to give my stockbroker a call to deal. | jamielein
20/1/2014 13:55 | Have just paid 161p for the privalage of coming to join you. What a cracking sounding company. seems a bit under the radar, which suits me fine FYI - ticker was not showing on my on line dealing platform (Barclays) but they allowed me to trade over the phone with the on line charges. They did not know why it was not showing up, looking to rectify now. Seems a common issue after earlier thread | jakedog2
