Mr TDidn't find much other than this decent article on arrogance in investing, try reading it, it may help you. HTTPS://www.gurufocus.com/news/652790/revisiting-humility-and-arroganceThere is a quote from Charlie Munger which I liked:"Humility means that you know the edge of your own competency and you aren't arrogantly stepping over the boundary." All the best.

Watcha Mr T, it's like catching fish in a barrel.I will admit I do take on board your expertise on investing..........everyone you hold I short, made a small fortune following you around, many thanks.Have a great Christmas.p.s. I'm sure the man himself Buffett must have some words of wisdom about arrogance and investing, will have to have a google and let you know, it may be useful to you!..........but I very much doubt it.

Price takes a dive and out come the usual grunts revelling in people's bad fortune and making out they knew it would happen and only an idiot would ha e bought them. No need to name names.

no wonder November was bad for SportsDirect - they only had a lazy offer offering a GBP10 voucher refund when you spend GBP50 - most of their gear wasn't really discounted I believe apart from the fake discounts.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I don't think anyone could have foreseen the rate of decline in the high street. I do think there will be a revival after the restructuring, although it will never reach the heights of 10 years ago. Only a few years ago groceries shops were heavily hit and many said they would never recover, Ocado and Amazon would rule the world. Well many doubled in share price and are heading up in positive direction. This industry needs to reshape itself based on customers changing needs that's all.

I don't think anyone can deny that Ashley showed entrepreneurial skill in creating Sports Direct from nothing. He latched onto a growing market and by buying tired old brands for next to nothing and screwing down costs used them to sell cheap sports wear and undercut his rivals.

But he's a one trick pony. He hasn't a clue how to run a football club or operate in the plc environment and he's certainly no retail genius, throwing shareholders' money away to feed his own ego of which DEB and HoF are yet more examples.. Give it up Mike. Go spend your time binge drinking and strutting around the casinos with your sycophantic followers...

MA reduced the asking price for Newcastle by £100 million seems he needs the money and no guarantee of a sale. Sports stake in Debs still falling and House of Fraser website down and probably losing money. All this will affect SPD earnings the share price could fall significantly from here.

Yeah that's just what Sports Direct shareholders need, Ashley to operate in a less regulated environment.

I'm not sure what Ashley is doing messing around with HoF and Debenhams. He'd be better sticking to what he knows. Pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap. A strategy which he's tried at NUFC without success. Plenty of reasons to believe he'd have the same difficulties with HoF and Debenhams...
