MA has had grief from NUFC fans for years, Why doesnt he sell??? Because he's making too much money for SD, all hidden in the books, if he wasnt making money from it, he would have sold years ago.

Free advertising for 11 years, closed all of the club shops and the 1 remaining, so called club shop, is a SD shop in all but name, with very little money actually going to NUFC from sales. MA needs NUFC for SD and has no intention of selling.

Thanks - well he could have been a bit more specific than just saying "shareholders have stabbed me in the back" .. shareholders do not vote against reappointing Directors without a reason..

He's talking about the institutional investors who voted at the AGM to kick out the Chairman whom he supported!

But he is blaming the shareholders? They have not contributed in full to a falling share price. Shorters have to bear some of the blame. Why only blame one party? He should be up in arms that shorters are benefitting from the bad press etc. Most shareholders want to see capital growth - he is shooting the wrong messenger imho

Blaming shorters for damaging a share price is crazy - they are just taking a view as to the future direction of the stock. Because that view might not be yours and the majority of buyers are not willing to back their views with money the share price drops. If the management were doing a good job, nobody would be taking short positions and the stock would rise.

Why did he not also blame the shorters for dragging the share price down? They take advantage of bad press and uncertainty aka Debenhams

Still think he would have been better sticking to what he knows best , SPD

Does he really need the hassle of acquisitions at his time of life ?

I would be inclined to be enjoying my wealth whilst my health is good.

Is MA spot on about saying shareholders have stabbed him in the back?
One of the most ott stupid comments I have ever heard. For a start, a small PI with 200 shares will not be involved..just a few larger holders..such a generalisation

Strange comment from my wife
Talking about MA and House of Fraser
She said she would never shop there

"Can't stand the man" said she "but you have never met him ", I replied.

Think that unfortunately MA rather has that effect.

MA is spot on asserting what he did, trial by the media whom have an agenda to damage a great British company. The media is responsible for losses of thousands of jobs to sell their papers/magazines.

By not supporting SD they are helping the likes of Amazon whom are no different when it comes to employment in its warehouses.

Do these stupid people really want to see MA fail in making HoF the go to store and save lots of jobs?

Yeah, Ole Mike is feeling the pressure a bit... I can assure him, it is only going to get worse from certain sections, and it wont 'blow over by September'

Looks like Mike is not enjoying the scrutiny that comes with Sports Direct being a plc.

tony,

Well if posters read the statement its clear he has something to hide, the profit growth excludes House Of Fraser acquisition and with it probably losing money SPD will have to take a charge which will hit profits going forward.

Given the concerns over the Sports Direct accounts, this share is one to avoid until it gets its house in order.

The price to earnings is far too high and House of Fraser is going to distract management and drain funds.

Sell.

It pains me to see Mike losing money....

Lets hope his empire is starting to fall around him, get out of these before the AGM, its not going to be good viewing.

What a shame.

John Lewis set to "blow competitors out of the water" with a Christmas add costing a huge £5 million and the final cost is likely to be in 7 figures after signing up Elton John.
