Would the Court be referring to the astronomical or meteorological autumn? There's a three week difference.I'm impatient so I hope it's the met autumn.

Looking at the schedules of decisions from previous years, the Supreme Court usually takes its first permission to appeal decisions after the summer break in early to mid October.

Very naive of any SPO investor to expect Penrose to deliver anything but empty promises, like most things concerning Hemmings and Penrose, its smoke and mirrors.

My understanding was that the Striders bar was put on hold to focus resources on another project. You would think they could fit out two bars in parallel. I suspect there may be a dispute on the project to cause such a long delay.

A somewhat less than ideal news report today:
hTTtp://www.pe.com/articles/city-812249-norco-sportech.html

Sportech Venues California, developers of the proposed Striders restaurant, finished about 30 percent of the work within months, and hopes were high that it would open in time for the May 2014 Kentucky Derby.
Today, more than two years after the initial completion date, an unfinished plywood facade sits behind a chain link fence. No work has been done at the site in more than a year....

TORONTO, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bump 50:50, a division of Sportech Racing // Digital, continues a successful customer acquisition campaign in Texas with the announcement that it has been selected by the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation to provide the technology and services to conduct 50/50 charitable fundraising raffles at Dallas Cowboys home games at AT&T Stadium, benefiting the Salvation Army.Since the state of Texas first began permitting 50/50 charitable raffles at sporting events in late 2015, Bump 50:50 has been rolling out new customers quickly and successfully, with systems deployed for three customers in the state so far this year – The Dallas Stars, the Dallas Mavericks, and FC Dallas. Flat overall. On the bright side SPO won enough new business to counter the loss of California, which was their second largest customer in the US at the time. Investec bullish today looking for the sale of Football Pools once the VAT claim is over.

Fair point Mark1000 hopefully that combined with HMRC finally admitting defeat as its criminal what they are wasting now, encouraged by expensive barristers.....who would obviously say fight on for £800 hour....

Suspect that as SPO`s dollar assets and income have increased in sterling translation so the sterling share price should increase to reflect this BWTFDIK.

Hope we can sting them for costs as well - HMRC are plain wrong should never have brought the case in the first place some thing wrong when the tax authorities move away from straight forward literal interpretations of words such as game to trying to twist meanings to raise unjustified tax. Their time would be better spent looking into the artificial accounting treatment made by large multinational organisations.

If the Supreme Court rejects hmrc's appeal in Autumn then HMRC has to pay SPO the money, which is close to 100 million now. I would guess that's the end of the road for HMRC.
