Hi Jab.

No way the 10k lol, a lot smaller.

Npe has been a moneyspinner, tell you what though, talk about a expensive
dog walk today, cost me close to £500 taking out the mutt thinking everything
would be nice and quiet, missed a spike when i had a position open in Npe
and didnt even think about leaving a limit order, excellent day but could
have been even better, when the markets get poor again and you cannot make
a bean for a month or two you look back at days like today and think you have
to make as much as possible while it lasts :-))

I'm out now Jab, trading so many oil and gas stocks that i need the funds
for them, there's more money to be made trading them than holding this for
another 5p even though i know for almost certain it will get above 50p and
then probably go to 60p, just feel i make the money faster in the O&G sector,
just look at Npe, serious money to be made trading that one.

Hi 8

Will you be selling out now they have hit your target price ? I'm feeling there could be more to this longer term with this rise and the board reasonably quiet.

The alternative was shut it and sell the assets but likely they they saw this as costing more so presumably nil and a write down could be the cheapest option.

Losses of >£6m on £34m of turnover is one sick business...turning it around may not be that simple.

Getting out was the important thing, it's looking more & more attractive to me..might have to jump on board at last..

nilip,

Appreciate your view.

To sell a loss making business is not easy.If they can sell a loss making business for ££, that will be great for all of us. But I am happy as long as they get rid of it. I have seen many companies have huge NAV, but the share price still go down to toilet because they are not making any profit. Market take more weight on EPS rather than NAV. And to generate profit is more important for all share holders.

BTW, their debit is (118-30)m now.

qip,

Don't get me wrong, they're better off rid of the Gas business but given that the company has net debt of £118 Million it would have been prudent to get a nominal figure rather than just literally give it away ... that's quite a decent debt pile SPI has on it's books and every bit helps imo to try to reduce such a debt.

Unfortunately, they've now written off another 10.4 Million from it's books.

sorry you take the negative side of this story.
I prefer the company to get rid of the gas business even with nil price as it contribute 6m loss a year at the moment and to reconstruct the business will cost more...

They've 'given' away the gas business ?
Even though it had assets of £10.4 Million ??

I thought they'd at least sell it for a decent price and get something for it rather than nothing.

Does this mean they'll write off the £10.4 mil as another one off loss in the figs.
