I sell to speedy hire on a daily basis through a plant spares company my dealings with them are first class and payment is always there this company is going places my only doubts were with there dealing be with Carrillon but it looks like there problems will be solved strengthening our position with them and allowing us to grow

MRF I wholeheartedly take all your comments on board re.customer service, but from a shareholder perspective Speedy have worked miracles over last 18 months. Whereas competitors like HSS Hire, Carillion and Interserve have proven financially inept and are floundering badly, Speedy has increased its market share apace, dramatically reduced overheads and almost halved its debt to under £65m as half-year results will reveal next week.
By all measures it is outperforming its competitors and I wouldn't be surprised to see a substantial hike in the interim dividend also to bring us some Christmas cheer.

There was an attempted breakout at exactly this time last year, in the run up to the half yearly report in mid November, which carried on after the results. Let's hope this is a repeat.

ToscaFund are far more likely to continue to try to push down the share price of HSS ( of which they now own approaching 28%)than they are SDY . The lower the price ( and market cap ) of HSS the stronger they feel their case will become to try to " steer " SDY into some kind of Purchase / Merger . Just my opinion .

in my opinion. this is being manipulated possibly by tosca who will probably get their own way

Ashtead said " small bolt on's and organic growth " a couple of years ago , as opposed to " transformational deals " . That was when Ashtead was much smaller than they are now with a market cap of roughly 50% of what it is today . Times change and the opportunity to buy an organised market leading competitor outright has its appeal .

I would be very surprised to see a bid from Ashtead it's not how they are looking to grow the business.

something obviously wrong here soon into the 40s so back where we were 12 months ago think the 6 Mil was a delayed sell we are heavily involved with carrillion and intreserve so not looking good

Lol . WTF with the late reported , cancelled trades , uncrossing and auction .
6 million after the bell !!! MM's are loving this one . Still nevertheless I DO think that someone is dumping shares ( or could it simply be MM's " re-balancing ? " )

It is my considered opinion that the only way is up however and a " re-rating " is imminent , that's assuming SDY steers well clear of any " hook up " with HSS .

Buys and Sells tend to be improperly posted ( especially on illiquid small cap stocks ) . The 1million due to go through @ 51.77 is definitely a BUY :)
