Not sure why share price should fall on payment date, surely the xd day is the day it is "priced" into the market? Continue to hold for updates on investments, which IMO could result in more share price appreciation and returns in cash to shareholders....

pldazzle - sorry to confuse, by ex-divi I meant 27th was last day to qualify for the divi, its from a SPK mail sent to shareholders on the 9th Sept. ;-)

It's not clear at all the note from my broker said if I held the shares at the close of business on 30th September I would receive the capital return seems to be a lot of confusion as to when ex div is or was

Think its the 4th actually when the new shares are listed so expect the share price to fall then

Dr K - where do you get that? 'Shareholders on the register as at 27 September' doesn't define the XD date.

For the Jan 2013 distribution, the 'shareholders on the register' date was 17 Jan and the distribution was on 28 Jan. If I am not mistaken, the XD date was 21 Jan, or one week before the payout date, which suggests tomorrow.

Ex-divi date was 27th - (all such returns are subject to shareholder approval).

Just read the RNS but can't see what the xd date is for the 2p special dividend?
25th or 26th?

Why I can get the div today by selling today it will fall more than 2p as it did last time they returned cash and ill buy back in then - if it doesn't then fine I've made a good return here - the whole market will see them coming as they get towards their target date for winding up the trust and that may effect the price try can get for their assets - time will tell

Coupled with recent news... this looks like a team being built for the IPO... not sure when but i would bet in the next few months.... and going to be a huge boost to SPK's NAV ( min 20% IMV).... we have had virtually nothing on Openx's revenues/profitability for some time... I think there are some blockbusting numbers under wraps for IPO time...will this happen before SPKs sell off not sure? Maybe someone will take out the whole portfolio in one gulp.

Academia.. blasting ahead but, I guess, so what.

Interesting a 2p per share special dividend to be paid to shareholders on or before October 10th.
