Worst of all possible outcomes given the recent history of progress in the major investments and current market

"Nevertheless we recognise that the task is not yet complete and hope and expect to report further disposals before the year end" - is there news in the pipeline

The change in valuations downwards is a shock. Are they being unduly pessimistic, just realistic or are they going to persuade us that valuations can be recovered if they start investing again - one of the options stated in their conclusion.

Some of the revaluations are perplexing notably Imi... Why suddenly change the ebitda multiple. Academia... Not using the recent fundraising. Which would have doubled the value....openx I can't understand at all... Is there some tax reason for this?...moshi also bizarre.

Had to bail out this morning at a reasonable profit after cash returns. Need the money otherwise might have held on based on discount to NAV. Good luck to all.

Michael was the CEO of SPARK from its founding in September 1999 until he stepped down to become a non-executive director on 16 September 2004.

Appointed to the Board on 27 September 1999. Michael chairs the company's audit committee

Although non-exec it seems surprising that he would leave months before wind up
But maybe we read too much into these things
But it was terse for a former CEO leaving
Maybe an internal spat and nothing to impact on shareholders..."he hopes"
But half year results out soon

The government today revealed the first raft of high-growth firms to become a part of its Future Fifty programme.

The 25 companies feature game developer Mind Candy and taxi service Hailo, as tech and media firms dominate the list.

The coalition hopes the initiative will help the firms grow into Britain's next generation of big businesses, and the scheme will provide tailored advice and support for the members.

My own feeling, entirely unsupported by anything concrete, is that a six month extension will be granted... I hope so as we do not want to miss the openx float.
