I think it is important to stress too, that this isn't an ongoing situation the gains are to be fully crystalised at some point next year.

In my view the 13.5 nav is disinctly understated. A lot hinges on the timing of our exit from OPENX in which we have just less than 3%... at the moment this is valued at at c 1.25p/spk share

There have been some hints from Tim Cadogan the chief exec. that openx might float in the nearish term , but nothing definite. Its very difficult to guage exactly where Openx are in value terms... I saw a press report that in 2012 they doubled revenues and at the end of 2011 they were at a run rate on 100m rev and operating at a profit. Activities 4 trillion as opposed to 1 trillion. 7 times revenue for this type of co. is a number I have heard from an industry insider. =(say on a conservative 200million revs. )1.4 billion $ = c +6p/spark share roughly, I expect though that if we sell our 3% before float we would get less.

In essence the share price does not reflect the remaining higher NAV last calculated at 16.16p, that minus 2.5p = 13.5p. If the individual assets rise before final closure then even more will be realised.

This maybe a very niave observation, and I am sure somone on here will be able to put me right, but if the share price is going to go down 2p everytime we get a return of cash of 2p what's the point of holding these ?

2.5p it is then. There should be news of another return of cash on another company, in April. Return of cash should be on a roll in 2013.

At the end of 2011 openx were at a run rate of c100M$ revenues... might now put hem on what as a run rate... say $500 mill revs. This is a very big business and growing like bejasus.

I used to hink a big holding in IMI was the jewel in the crown but beginning to think Openx will be a multi billion $ company. 3% of which is going to be tasty.

This week the Board decides on whether to repay 2p or the more likely 2.5p. On the 28/1 payment should be winging its way to holders accounts.

CP. that is a colossal increase.

" In 2012 OpenX served nearly 4 trillion ads, a near 300% growth from the 1 trillion the Company served in 2011."

I am adopting for 'B' as I can write off the 'profit' against my losses.

The U.S. S&P should end notably higher today, which could give SPK portfolio valuation a boost ahead of the 2.5p payment due on the 28/1.

SPK holding in notonthehighstreet.com, Kolbalt,Firebox and Mind Candy were worth £23.2m/5.65p a share, which could readily be realised. The latter plus cash of £19.3m/4.7p a share, almost backed the 11.25p share price
