29/5/2007 15:00 | Idioterna, "I guess we all realised it was coming to this. nAC is really going to have to pull a rabbit out of the hat now.." You did. I didn't. Very sad. Congratulations on being right. Well done. | nobull
29/5/2007 14:54 | Looks like they just announced the demise of Danfeng.. funny how word gets out. | idioterna
29/5/2007 14:50 | South China Res Withdrawal from JV RNS Number:3678X South China Resources PLC 29 May 2007 South China Resources plc ("the Company") Withdrawal from Danfeng Joint Venture South China Resources plc today announces it has decided to terminate its involvement in the Danfeng Project ("the Project") and the Joint Venture Company established to develop the Project, the Shang Lou City Zhongbei Minerals and Mining Development Company Ltd. Although exploratory drilling conducted over the last 18 months has largely confirmed the presence of copper mineralisation, further to continued analysis of the drilling to date, the Board believes that the Project unfortunately does not meet the development criteria of the Company in terms of potential scale and projected returns on a fully risked basis. The Company is however continuing to make positive progress with respect to advancing all its other business activities in Tibet and elsewhere in China. The Company will update the market on its current activities and any other future investments as and when they are contractually finalised. | garymegson
29/5/2007 14:32 | We'd have to see the terms of any possible bonds/convertibles before making a judgement. There are good examples of companies that have used such funding devices in their history which have gone on to do very well for shareholders, of course (Rusina Mining is a recent example of success in this manner). One way or another, if a project on the likely scale of Zhunuo is to be developed, it is inevitable that current shareholders would end up owning a far, far smaller % of the company than they do now. It is, of course, a matter of how big the cake turns out to be which you have a small slice of. We await confirmation of there being a cake ;-) Interesting drilling news from Tibet today.... not ours, of course.... | simon54
29/5/2007 14:24 | Idioterna, thanks. In that case I would hope for a stream of good news announcements, starting with announcement to commission the report necessary to get the mining licence (hopefully they have enough money for that), which might take the shares up to 9p, then the grant of the mining licence (back to 14p?) and then a funding announcement to pay for the Danfeng capex. Not sure that the bondholders would end up with 75% of the company if the conversion price was set at 20p (500 shares for every £100 raised? - raising £4m capex would result in 20m extra shares being issued?). Maybe my calculations are a bit optimistic, but 75% owned by bondholders seems very pessimistic. Anyway, we shall find out soon enough! | nobull
29/5/2007 13:39 | nobull - spot on. No point in holding the shares - bondholders will control 75% of SCR in the future... just a rumor mind.. | idioterna
29/5/2007 13:02 | Idioterna, does that mean you've been given a hint they will issue a low coupon convertible bond with a low exercise price to pay for the next stage of development, whatever that may be? Thanks in advance. | nobull
29/5/2007 11:57 | wols - I'm still following the company with interest. I had an interesting meeting with some old boys in Singapore last week. There might be legs in the old dog yet.. I intend to buy the bonds though, not the shares. | idioterna
27/5/2007 17:04 | strowL I gave not sold any now for a couple of weeks. 500k not mine. I will post to this board if and when I sell any more | wolstencroft
26/5/2007 18:59 | dave-i love your enthusiasm-ill second that-i think they need all the support they can get at the moment | strow
26/5/2007 17:57 | Program on C4 on Mon night, 'Brits get rich in China' Maybe intersting on mentioning all the red-tape associated with setting up a business; apparently features a building a factory in former paddy fields. May have some tips for AC, building a mine in a forest etc! Come on SCR. | davethechef
25/5/2007 16:30 | wolstencroft-can you confirm or disconfirm-was the 500k anything to do with you?only ask because in a way its easier knowing if it came from you, rather than another seller as we already know your thoughts on things | strow
25/5/2007 15:48 | The 5p are buys going through - not as many sells as one might think. | the law
25/5/2007 15:37 | Trading picked up today but mostly sales. With no news published, why have people decided today is the day to off load? | woodburnd
25/5/2007 15:10 | Agreed its absolute tosh. How has he managed to work in senior positions & to have been in mining for 40years; i'd have thought more like 40days to find out whether he was full of bull, or more like chinese crakers! It takes me about 4minutes to suss out whether we have a good chef or a phoney!!! | davethechef
25/5/2007 13:57 | Anyway,if you look at the scr release on tyrwhitt,it states that he was responsible for the inception and expansion of production at the telfer project,NOT the discovery as such,so seems clear to me scr know exactly what he did and didnt do Re his experience in tibet,i think this is invaluable-he has been there for the last five years looking for major mining projects-i imagine he might have found something during this time ! | strow
25/5/2007 13:39 | Monsieur Turcaud could be a disgruntled Narla and Day Dawn shareholder? How can a company employ "the greatest geological fraud" when there is a reference to "greatest geological fraud" being a person, DS Tyrwhitt? A French email address, a knighthood and a style of writing like that? Agreed. A nutcase. "This is just to warn you that you are employing one of the greatest Geological fraud alive in the world : David Stuart Tyrwhitt, PhD (geology) Bristol University . That chap made all his career, and built up all his fame on the pretension that he had found Australia largest Gold Deposit Telfer Mine . That thief and financial criminal indeed who defrauded Narla & Day Dawn shareholders of millions of dollars, indicates clearly how he pretentiously made his alleged discovery in the immensity of the Great Sandy Desert of Australia " | nobull
25/5/2007 13:29 | Am told a/c should be back on tuesday next week,so presumably will have done most if not all of what he needs to do by that point | strow
25/5/2007 13:26 | kimboy-didnt mean to offend-perhaps should have asked if you were still in-anyway good youre still here-glad youre doing well | strow
25/5/2007 13:21 | That's not very generous Strow. I am only reporting what has been posted on another site. I didn't think it was particularly damaging anyway. If it was I would have e-mailed the information rather than posting. In fact I do still hold, though I am not sure it is entirely a rational position. I think the time to be invested is probably after the Danfeng decision, and the subsequent fund raising, rather than before. The rest of my portfolio has done fantastically well (for me) since April 5th and everything seems to be going right at the moment. Perhaps this will as well. | kimboy2
25/5/2007 12:54 | Actually just read it again-that bloke sounds like an out and out nutter-perhaps worthy of caution and obviously has some axe to grind ,but nothing else i think | strow
25/5/2007 12:35 | It's quite an interesting story, in fact, the dispute over the 'discovery' of Telfer - seems to hinge upon the definition of the word (e.g., which is the 'discovery' - finding an area with indications of metallic potential or staking out and exploring what is then developed as a gold resource?). Anyway, quite amusing to think of ourselves as "unaware Chinese decent & trusting people." ;-) | simon54
25/5/2007 12:34 | kimboy-i take it youre out now then? | strow |
