02/6/2017 09:22 | This afternoon should give us an indication | 1westham
02/6/2017 08:56 | I am surprised at the low volumes over the last few days - normally a big " buy before news " bridgade arrives. Guessing that some news on both Badile and Sidi Moktar will now be early next week. Hopefully, good outcome on both counts. | kevjames
02/6/2017 08:45 | *hit i missed that! Well thats tonight's viewing sorted. I notice some of the tarnish is falling away from the golden tickets.....slow and steady wins the race.....Happy Friday all. | telbap

01/6/2017 12:14 | andymunchkin, if I only knew. The Badile result is for sure going to move the stock a lot either way. I think the stock held well after the poor TE-8 result. The company managed to deliver the bad news piecemeal. Badile is pretty different from TE-8 in the sense that its one drill hit or miss. If Badile dosent come in there is no follow up well on the Badile prospect in it-self, while when they drilled TE-8, there was always plenty of follow-up work in case of a failure, with acquiring new seismic and finding new targets in the Tendrara license area. The Badile well is also very important for the future news flow for the next 12 months. Before TE-8 was drilled the company plan was for several re-entries and possible new drills on Tendrara in 2017, but after the weak TE-8 result all this activity has been delayed and there isnt to much newsflow lined up after the Badile / Sidi-Moktar results. The Tendrara seismic program will take 6 month to acquire and 6 months to process and I havent seen any RNS telling that the acquisition has even begun. The company said that they would announce the seismic result piece by piece but I doubt that we will get much of a result in 2017. Its now June and lets say the acquisition starts early August in best case. If Badile doesn't come in there is no news follow-up on that prospect and we would be sitting with second half 2017 with very limited expected newsflow. Given that Sound is a newsflow driven stock, some holder will get impatient. It would have more sense to put the Echo business in Sound, as than they would have been able to do the "Bolivia/South America" deal in H2 in Sound and create some excitement while the shareholder is waiting for the Tendrara seismic updates. In any case, interesting days ahead. | lowflow

01/6/2017 10:45 | Badille is the reason James Parsons joined SOU. Here is hoping he got it right, from this price it will soar on good news. | squiresquire
01/6/2017 10:44 | The COS on Badile is quoted as 34% with internal estimates of 43% I seem to recall. What the vast majority of people seem unaware of, is that the COS is arrived at by multiplying several factors that are necessary for hydrocarbons to be found. They are all dependent on each other for a successful outcome. This system has an overall chance of success that is based on its component parts. Obviously we need the zone to be charged with hydrocarbons, and we need a good reservoir (permeability and porosity) and the trap needs to be present. Let's say we have an 80% probability of a hydrocarbon charge and a 75% chance of a good reservoir with a 70% chance of a good trap. That sounds like a good chance of each doesn't it? Well that works out to a COS of 42%... Just saying... Buffy | buffythebuffoon

01/6/2017 09:27 | The 30th May Badile webcam shows a lot of road tanker traffic in & out of the drill site. According to LSE BB, Sarah has said it is 'ongoing operations'. There are too many possibilities to know whether its a positive or negative sign, but it can't be long until we know something. | hpotter
31/5/2017 18:20 | Post of the day, surely, on LSE. Another 250SWB handle one wonders? Badile Webcam Today 13:08 I don't know how accurate that Webcam is but I thought I saw some puffs of Gas coming out of the top of the rig ??? | manics
31/5/2017 18:18 | I do have an interest in the stock. | lowflow
31/5/2017 14:42 | Are you invested in Sound | 1figaro
31/5/2017 13:59 | The probability of success was estimated to 22% by the reserve auditor in the 2013 CPR. When the probability of success was lifted to 34% its wasn't done by the auditor, just by Sound internal folks. In any case, we should know in the next few days if its a success or if the reservoir is filled with salt water with traces of gas as the Lacchiarella-1 well was, immediately to the south of the Badile prospect. | lowflow
31/5/2017 12:14 | A 51% COS would be game on !!! | 1westham
31/5/2017 12:10 | Mike From a pure probability statement you are correct. However, my understanding is that CPRs are very conservative, even a 34% COS is considered high in this industry. There are no guarantees until the drill bit hits the target rock - but modern horizontal drilling techniques can enhance the chances of hitting the pay zone when in the reservoir rock. My feeling is more positive than negative, but not long to wait to get the answer. | kevjames
31/5/2017 12:03 | Actually LSE make the math work in such a way that it's around 100% COS. I say COS, should really just be S. | manics
31/5/2017 11:54 | a 3-1 horse never wins a race does it? tw$t | johnspain
31/5/2017 11:52 | Yes, and 66% chance of failure, so it is far more likely to fail !! | mikemichael2
31/5/2017 11:29 | KevJames: Badile CPR = 34% COS In-house = 43% COS Market? Supposedly much less if we apply gravitas to JP's suggestion that "there's very little in the price for Badile". A huge milestone for the company in any event which I hope reestablishes excited positivity for all stake holders -both investors and the hard working BOD. | manics |
