Or they could be buying liquid shares to ensure they have enough holding for the yes vote to go through. Accept they are paying slightly over the offer price. Pales into insignificance if they get the company cheap.

Cold towel thinking. Someone has bought the R&M stake and the waha stake- they now hold over 25%. They can only be doing this if they intend to oppose the tenaz deal- and with over 25% they can stop it as it is a scheme of Arrangement- so tenaz offer is dead.
There is no certainty that the "new" 25% shareholder will make an offer- it they do go above 29.9% then they will have to make an offer at not less than the highest price they paid (13p).
While an offer has to be most likely, there is no certainty of an offer- this COULD be someone buying a strategic (near controlling) stake on the cheap, without any requirement to buy the whole company. Only flagging this as a counter-point to those who think an offer is certain
In any event we should know who the buyer is in next few days when TR1 released

there is no reason to pay above 11p TNT otherwise, it would make no sense to buy at 12 and 13 to then agree to a 11p cash offer.

Unless there is some really funcky offer for TNZ/SDX as a whole being made..

Looks likely that a new player is on the scene going above the cash offer now must mean someone is accumulating lots of shares for a possible takeover

Well, Waha would have no idea of the other party's intention, would they? They would be happy to move on with a penny above the 11p offer.

Not sure the tenez offer is dead, even with WAHAs share, is that enough to vote it down? Waha only had 19%, thats still some way short.

However, they [the buyer] will be doing tooth and nail all they can to get the 30%, which will push up the price. They may have to make an offer at a much higher price if they can't get enough.

Is this thought cogent? Rule 9 means they have to make an offer, and no one is going to accept less than market rates... right?

edit. Okay, the river holding is 10%, but they have not disposed of them all. They still hold 5%

Interesting times...

Whatever happens here I am well under water on my investment, but every penny share price increase makes a difference and will give me more funds to reinvest into a non O&G company...in order to hopefully recover my original investment. Especially now as many listed entities share prices are significantly lower than they were a few months ago.

It was WAHA- the trade matches exactly their holding- but would they have sold if they thought a much higher offer was coming? My guess is an offer at 13p- in any event the tenaz offer is dead. Putting WAHA and r&M stake together is circa 25%- if mystery buyer buys more may trigger Ruie 9.

I've bought more this morning. An offer will come. No one would buy at 10-20% above the 11p barrier and then not make an offer. It will be more than 13p. It has to be.

I think (and can be corrected) that the buyer has 4 days to file their announcement of buying 1%- be interesting if they have bought more by then.
As said in earlier post, getting a full cash offer from tenaz has set the bar and allowed other bidders to have a look. Fingers crossed for a competing, full cash, offer at 13 p or more (or tenaz realising the game may be up, and thus raise their offer now)
