Is SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador trying to tell us something?

MK

I have tended to see the book fights as two opposite parties with different agendas

fighting it out but it could equally be one key player lulling us to sleep until it is

ready to make its plan known.

I dont think so lowtrawler it would seem to me that the date is fixed so BHP could vote against the board if they wanted to .

It puts BHP in a much better position to negotiate a deal with Solgold before the meeting .

However it also gives NM time sell 25% to a major with a simular cant buy me out or vote against the board for 18 months or so .
Lets face it anything can happen and probably will .

Holding almost guarentees a nicepayout whatever happens .

Does the requisitioned meeting being late October afford any protection to CGP from the offer closing early October? Do the rules require SOLG to keep the offer open until after the meeting? If so, I suggest that is what is motivating CGP rather than any notion they will be successful.

Perhaps trap was the wrong word, but if Solg has a claim against CGP for any of the costs so far incurred, then NM is now hardly motivated to hold back.

I have no idea as to a trap...

I note that Solgold have updated their 1 week old presentation with their more fuller 40 slide version, though nothing obviously new?

27th of October .

After Solgolds offer ends and BHP will be free to vote ..

Interesting .

So gives time for NM to plan what he needs .

And he will have approx 30% against to kickoff with .

Might need to dilute BHP . Cornestone and Newcrest down a wee bit . An agreement with Barrick or Rio or the Chinese would do that or a sale to BHP before that date .

pob69, I wonder if Solg are going to hit CGP with a fat bill before that can happen? Have CGP fallen into a trap?

Cornerstone Intends to Requisition SolGold General Meeting to be held in late October 2020 to Replace Entire SolGold Board

...to replace the entire SolGold board. Cornerstone intends to submit the formal requisition at an appropriate date that will ensure that the General Meeting will be held on or after October 27, 2020.

Lowtrawler,

I agree that it is going to be tight for Solg to have telling drill results before BHP comes out of purdah - they have effectively lost three months because of the virus restrictions.

But I recall how Solg used to whet the appetite of shareholders in the earlier days of the Alpala discovery: we were often given a visual description combined with photos of drill core before it was sent it for analysis.

I expect Solg to do the same if they can see visible gold/copper on core samples from Porvenir and the other prospects. So the anticipation can build.

All we can, and should, do is establish our position and wait. The announcements over the next 3 months will move the price and insiders will shift the price before any announcement is made.IMHO, the price is so far below fair value that, even if the announcements are negative, it is unlikely there will be any lasting loss.

SOLG are in a much stronger and better position today than they have ever been in the past. Couple that with the high commodity prices and there is no question that they are undervalued. When you add on the diary events over the next 3 months and potential corporate action, we could rise very swiftly.

Interesting to compare solg performance with say the junior miner explorer index.
The latter achieved it's low after the initial baby bull rally around mid 2018. Meanwhile solg was around 20p which it has clung to on numerous occasions and so some might have considered it to be it's fair value. Where there's a disconnect is how the metals and miners have performed since then. With the recent metals breakout the index has effectively doubled in value. Solg on the other hand has stagnated. Is it time for catch up??

Mk, wishful thinking will not make it so. We might get lucky but need to recognise that's what it would be. Commodity prices have a marginal impact on the current SOLG price, we will pick up around 20% of their impact but because the relationship is so weak, it doesn't usually happen immediately.Volume was slightly better yesterday and so things may be starting to happen.
