They only have to point to Venezuela across the border to see what happens if extreme politics overrides common sense. If they want social improvement then they need money, lots of it and long term, mining will provide it day in and day out. Tourism can be very unreliable and "eco" stuff usually ends up costing rather more than it is supposed to save.

I got it from you, ball bag.
As for avatars on here, do you not think maybe ths spelling is intended?
Nice name you've got by the way "bollokov" but that's not spelt correctly either.
No wonder you're losing more cash every day. Try "little big planet" it's perfect for you.

My money is going to ironridge, great sites, great management team, not a greedy bast-rd like NM, just put in over a million pounds out of his own market, Ghana mining county friendly with over 100 years of mining history, ceo has alreagy forcast Ghana alobe could be worth minimum of 500 million, with a market cap of just 50 million, alot safer and the reward looks alot better than solgold.

Intersting read from a global risk management company concerning link between legal and Ecuadorian mining issues of interest to Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #ecuador

"....Although our Government Stability Index projection does not project such a scenario in the coming six months (see below), simmering social discontent - both urban and rural - could yet create a real headache for the increasingly unpopular President Moreno, and damage investor sentiment in the extractives sector."

And one question i woul love the answer to now, is who will lend money to solgold to get this to production now, 18 months until the next general ections, and the opposition government are against mining, who would finance this, when tge plug could be pulled anyday, its tge same with BHP or newcrest who would they bid say 1 billion for some copper and gold that they cant mine. For once i agree with Gary maybe because i am currently out .

Without news flow this may just drop until an offer comes in or permits are recieved so the drilling can give the news flow again .

Maintaining good relations with the locals in such remote places is crucial, I would offer an olive branch of some sort. He might be unpopular with locals, but he's plainly a bit of a go-getter, so some means of bringing him on side would be best.

Having an aggrieved but capable local on the loose could be a long term nuisance, so find out how to get him onboard and persuade him that his best future depends on getting with the programme. He probably resents losing his independence and will not be an 'employee type', so perhaps some sort of small business that provides services to Solg might be the way to go?

One doesn't know the details, but if this has been Solg trying to put somebody in his place, then it has been handled very badly and never should have come to this.

I doubt the information that pob69 has unearthed is known to the larger market, it would help if Solg put it on their website as an explanation as an addendum to yesterdays rns.

It would seem unlikely that this mans case would succeed, Solg has brought such benefits to the local community, who would want to lose them? To say nothing of the potential generations worth of well paid mining jobs that will come along. Should we be out there building bars and hotels? :¬)

Great stuff Pob69. It’s almost as if he doesn’t want regulated mining companies in there at it so he can have a go at the spoils illegally for himself! Almost comical.

I can't believe that Solg themselves didn't make this plain yesterday. Presumably this person feels agieved at the loss of his business and wanted a pay off? He probably has a lot of local knowledge of where metals are the easiest to extract, and naturally hacked off when a big outsider installs themselves on his patch. Offering him a job a while back might have avoided this?

At least gold is rising.

...and to think I don't speak Spanish.

Google translate + time = information!

(I also find that using the filer button rigourously seems to increase the time available and reduce my blood pressure. A win win LOL!)
