lefrene: As usual I agree with you entirely,as do the mornings other posters, it seems. I have been an investor in SOLG since 2014 and never understood the drop in share price considering the encouraging RNS that are constantly released. I hope that the situation will improve during the next few weeks.

trev1223, I remain cynical as to why the price is down where it is. (I notice that nearly all 'AT' trades today are sales). Given the scale of Solg's holdings the current price reflects only a sliver of the buried wealth and but a tiny fraction of Cascabel alone. Still a lot of waiting to be done but the news should improve steadily. As this plum ripens so the hounds will gather. Perhaps some unexpected good news might prompt a short squeeze? That would change the picture here.

The article appeared in the AFR which is an Aussie based business focused newspaper. That piqued my interest big time. No smoke without fire? We shall see though I've been following the SOLG story for years now

Thanks gersemi.

There is more information here than we have seen for along time. What's your slant on this lefrene?

That 73k at .2170p was mine. If the price falls any lower I shall add. I suspect there's much embedded value here to be unearthed with the drill

Thanks for that gersemi! There's nothing like takeover rumours to change sentiment on here and as we are driven by sentiment it will be a refreshing change!Even the thieving scum will be unable to hold us back on takeover rumours as shorts will be closing!Let's see what the day brings ;@)

Good morning all!I notice that we finished over 5% up on TSX yesterday at 40 cents (Canadian) which equates to 23p. Let's see if it migrates across the water or will the thieving scum (sorry, I mean MM's)dictate otherwise!

it'll come out in the wash in April mam fach, once we know where those shares have gone. In the mean time there are opportunities for positive news flow.

Normal business resumes.... MM's marching us down again despite buys outweighing sells!

Most likely they are being paid to do so, presumably for the benefit of a big shorter? After all if you had control of a huge slug of shares at 25p and contracted them out at 35p, then you would have a vested interest in wanting to cover that contract at a much reduced level.

Morning all, it's nice to see that all has remained civil on here despite the down trend!Hopefully we have turned a corner(I guess we will find out for sure this week)!I notice last week on LSE it was de- ramp city!Q. Why would someone slate SOLG and spend time and effort telling holders that they can expect further falls without backing it up with any evidence?A. Because they think SOLG is a great company but they are wanting a cheaper entry price.... they don't fool anyone!!

ODR,

Thanks for posting the Solg clarification. Unfortunately there is a typo saying there are 6 million tons of contained gold - I wish!

Hopefully they mean 6 million oz of gold in the indicated category and 6 million inferred.

not directly linked but an excellent explanation of what is going on and a breath of fresh air compared to the rubbish on CNBC etc.

Ultimately this will boost gold and commodities

mrpiggy,

Useful post on the LSE thread the other day revealed that the average short position on Solg (Euroclear stats for loaned stock) in January was 14 million shares. Very small in relation to total shares but enough to make a difference at the margin in low volume trading on the way down.

So if we do get a turn up like today that persists we should get quite a boost from shorts closing on the way up.

Like you I just get the feeling that an outside body has manipulated us to yesterday's low but I don't think we will have to wait long to find out why!

Mrpiggy, one can never tell (unless an insider) why prices move or why an individual makes a particular choice.

I see some O trades, 50k and 100k sells, could just be people clipping it for a few hundred quid having noticed it was on new lows yesterday and took a punt?

One odd thing that does stand out is 10 x 5000 AT trades (algorithms?) at 14:48. Is that a machine trying to drive it lower? Seeing as it didn't work, are the other machines concluding that the tide has turned? Gawd knows.

I'd appreciated your thoughts on today's price action lefrene. To me selling when it was very clear we were bouncing off the bottom made no sense whatsoever so why would PI's sell.... especially this afternoon when it was clear we were on our way back up!Then there was a machine gun attack of identical small sells followed by a large buy!I'm half expecting an RNS to drop which will explain why we fell 20% below our placement price which is really unusual.
