At least short term weakness now until more positive news emerges.
Not great that any issues between parties are so bad that bodies are now turning up.
Uncertainty reigns for the time being and shares hate nothing more than potential fallout from what should have been a happy marriage.

Needs some clarity otherwise the so nay struggle here.

I`m sure that even as we speak the boys at Citi are feverishly putting together a poison pill that even Belzebub would baulk at swallowing, and tapping up would be sources of finance, remember Citi is one of the worlds biggest financial institutions and more than a match for BHP or anyone else for that matter.Nick knows what he`s got and has no need to get all hysterical when presenting. Is it conceivable that there are shareholders out there stupid enough to sell out to some Johnny come lately for a tiny fraction of what Solgold is truly worth, just to make a few quick bucks. We will only better understand what Solgold has when a full drill campaign has been completed, and if has been hinted at, there is a possibility that over all it`s projects in Ecuador, there may be perhaps to or even three projects equal to or even greater than Alpala. What then for Solgold share price, 40p!!!, 60p!!!, 80p!!! Nonsense!! The sky will be the limit. I will be patient, I hope the majority of shareholders will also be patient, remember, ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE THAT WAIT.!!!

I think NM would be better as a chairman and get some young blooded CEO to do the presentations . Lets face it he sounds Borring and it comes over poorly .

Thanks RP for that good review.

The resignation was a surprise as Nick was asleep when it was announced and the website was only changed late this pm.

I, too, thought his comments on "Solgold's women" was in poor taste and frankly the whole presentation was low-key.

I had to look up what "dissuasive" meant and indeed he didn't sound confident in any bid being successful.

The implied delays on PFS and DFS are concerning and go against what has been said/RNSed before.

He also stated that the many more analysts in the world aware of this developing story - will this lead to more coverage?

Nick Mather's response to the miriad of questions posed will be interesting as the more the global spotlight shines on this "major in the making" company the more it needs to stand up to scrutiny as there are plenty of knockers out there (as evidenced by some interesting comments made by Warren Irwin and IKN in the last 24 hours)

Snippets from Solgold presentation...

TBH it was pretty anodyne, delivered in Nick's characteristic monotone...

"A $550 million MCap makes us very vulnerable to an opportunistic takeover..."

"Craig Jones from Newcrest is on our Board..." No he's not! Given that the presentation was supposedly made 'earlier today', does that suggest the Newcrest resignation was a surprise?

Excruciating patronising reference to "the ladies of Solgold..."

"Solgold is in the process of bidding for Cornerstone...the alternatives to that bid are not dissuasive..." He doesn't sound confident of succeeding with the bid...

"Solgold has received 10 qualifying bids for the offtake of copper/gold/silver concentrate from Alpala. This points to a strong outcome in the generation of a near term development funding package..."

"The Franco Nevada deal equates to a $3 billion NPV as opposed to a $550 million market cap..."

"We have the opportunity of a $1 billion upfront financing based on a stream from a gold streaming company and we're working on debt deals with sovereign import and export credit agencies and that will provide hopefully $2 billion of the $2.7 billion that we need to develop this project..." BINGO!

"we are the most financeable copper gold porphyry project in the world..."

"We're on track to deliver the PFS study by end Q3, early Q4..." That's cutting it fine with BHP...

"DFS by the end of Q3 2021..." More slippage...

"there's more (regional) applications that are close to grant..."

"We have three other projects that we're drilling on and another 2 or three that we're working on to get the permits..."

"We have 5 or 6 projects that stand out and look even better than Alpala did...they look way better than Alpala did and we own 100%..." Now THAT is rocket fuel...

"Rio Amarillo has four different targets and the best of those has a litho cap on it that is better than Alpala..."

"At Porvenir we have outcrops that are twice the length and the same grade or better than Alpala..."

"These things (the 5/6 projects) all have outcrops and we don't need to drill them to define them..."

So in conclusion, this was a disgracefully low key presentation from a guy who keeps his company is massively undervalued!

However...it was worthwhile reminding us of the mind-blowing potential, with at least another 5/6 projects "at least as big as Alpala..."

My own conclusion...how on earth is he going to fend off a bid for what is truly a Tier 1 Major in the making and must be the most bankable, financeable, biddable company on the planet.

The challenge for would be bidders is, how long do you dare hold off your bids when SOLG is drilling on 'outcrops' on all these other 100% owned projects...

I can assure you all that, whatever happens to the share price I am holding LONG and STRONG!

You copied the whole post including # stuff and passed it off as your own on another site.

Apology accepted but you do realise plenty of others do exactly the same on that board too and I have mentioned it to them and I don't want to hurt their feelings as I need to be consistent....

The interview with pro-active was pre-recorded earlier in the day so it missed the news of Craig Jones' resignation Solgold SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador
The presentation used the presentation deck the link I posted yesterday.

Questions will be recorded and a video will be made subsequently to address them.

Investors Chronicle in a review of Mining opportunities post-covid has this to say about Solgold SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador.

"...Among the developers, SolGold (SOLG) is the focus. It has said for years it wants to take copper-gold project Alpala all the way to production, but a cash takeover offer from BHP (BHP) somewhere above 40p is likely to be persuasive to shareholders."

We all know there's a hostile bid coming.
NM seems to be doing his best to avoid it.
But, time is dragging on and LTH's getting dismayed.
Progress on explorations excellent- progress on share price pathetic.

If our speculation on the Newcrest activity being related to a takeover is valid, there is no reason for any delay in making an approach. Newcrest began making unhappy noises a couple of months ago which will have given plenty of time to arrange a bid. At the current low price, what better time?

They’re both on 13% ish so can be further diluted by about 25-30% hahaha

I predict the first lowball offer to come in July of 33p.

Rp, apologies. Although both BHP and Newcrest have anti dilution clauses, they only kick in if the share issue would dilute them below 10%.

Rp, the only strange thing in the whole affair is why neither BHP not Newcrest took up their rights in the placing as they both have anti dilution clauses. If they were planning a bid, it would have been in their own interests to up their stakes.

SP Angel's view on new recruitment Solgold SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador.

"...As Solgold’s exploration success at Alpala evolves into mine development, the appointment of two key mining engineers is an important step on the road to delivering a successful mine. Making the appointments ahead of the planned completion of the PFS and transition to DFS level work should give the engineers responsible for delivering the mine the opportunity to contribute at the design and planning stage and aid the project execution. We look forward to the PFS in September."
