22/6/2020 14:02 | Agreed Lefrene, we just don't know what action Newcrest will take or when. | ![]() lowtrawler
22/6/2020 13:56 | Newcrest are the block caving experts and I presumed they would be the main contractor for Alpala. They might be a bit miffed, but in the end it's just business, there's no point in flouncing off, dumping your shares in a huff and thus missing out on the huge resources that Solg controls. If they wanted to rub NM's nose in it then they would sound out others for a low ball takeover. | ![]() lefrene
22/6/2020 13:46 | I have often said that I find short-term price predictions for SOLG to be impossible as the price frequently defies the newsflow and the charts. As an example, take where we are today compared to pre-FNV deal. The price was around 27p and climbing: - We have secured funding through to BFS - We have sufficient funding to drill our most promising prospects - The Ecuador government are more actively promoting mining and SOLG - SOLG are more proactive in communication Despite all these positives, the price has fallen to 21p. There are really only 2 items countering the good news: - The worsening relationship between SOLG and Newcrest (possibly BHP as well) - A reduction in trust that the SOLG management will do what they say they will The more than 20% reduction in price shows just how important the market considers the relationship with our major shareholders and the need for trust if you are going to hand over 3bn to a management team. From where we are sitting, the relationship with Newcrest appears irreparable while BHP are biding their time. In my view, this is going to continue to play on the price until resolved. Getting a resolution will not be easy. Nobody wants Newcrest to sell into the open market. If Newcrest sell to another institution, it could scare off BHP. If Newcrest sell to BHP, they will be just below the takeover trigger which would likely scare away other potential biddrs while making it unnecessary for BHP to launch a bid. As SOLG management attempt to raise the needed 3bn, can financiers truly trust that they won't sell additional royalties / take out additional loans / lose support of their key mining backers / sell out to the highest bidder. Trust is a key commodity when raising finance. If we had managed to take Newcrest and BHP with us over the financing process, I have no doubt that we would be well over 30p at the moment. As it stands, there are really only 3 things which will recover the price: 1. New discoveries from drilling our prospects. 2. A friendly replacement investor for Newcrest. 3. A takeover. The benefit from new discoveries will be limited until the Newcrest situation is resolved. I think this is most likely to be resolved by way of takeover. I can't see another investor replacing Newcrest without upsetting BHP. If we continue heading towards Production without resolving Newcrest, at some point Newcrest will throw a spanner in the works. Losing the support of Newcrest really is a calamity waiting to happen. | ![]() lowtrawler

22/6/2020 08:08 | RP, MK, only around 20% of the SOLG share price is being driven by value of metal in the ground. The rest is driven by risk assessment. | ![]() lowtrawler

19/6/2020 06:35 | What the Shareprice needs right now is Franco confirmation .. Drilling confirmation and the sites . Once we get those the share price will start to rise quickly imho . Once the drilling starts the share price will tick up with every good drilling result at the moment we seem to be a fraction of a p up a fraction of a p down . | ![]() mknight

17/6/2020 21:00 | All the money they have spent on that position doesn't seem to have made an ounce of difference up until now! I'd rather have a dozen more locals on the end of a drilling machine, and put out an rns whenever they strike the yellow stuff. The people who might be interested in Solg already know all about it, just keep the website updated and get finding some more copper/gold pronto. | ![]() lefrene
17/6/2020 14:44 | Looked like the salary was a little light for the main communications person.....remember it was Anna Legge who was made a Director at the same time as Jason Ward and then she subsequently resigned....we will see in the coming weeks what their plans are for this position....or perhaps the person now reports to Ingo ? | ![]() goldrush
17/6/2020 14:32 | No idea and your comment may be on the mark but it is interesting to see the expectations of the position nevertheless. | ![]() pob69
