Maybe they’ve done a U turn on Franco because of takeover incoming?

This money will prove up another Alpala before October.
Last chance saloon for NM to give away cheap shares. He knows it’s desperate times and needs to prove some more reserves for the share price to rise before any bid.

The old adage that a 'miner is a liar stood in front of a hole in the ground', comes to mind.

More cash wanted without saying what they want it for! No wonder the price here slipped, so that'll be 20p tomorrow then? One hopes the dosh is to get some drills spinning and prove up some choice sites pronto.

Fund raising rns

Further significant points from CGP presentation:

"Cornerstone will fund its 15% after Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) - If the BFS is positive, we will raise our share of $150 million for every $1 billion in capex

No one has a right of first refusal or other pre-emptive right on Cornerstone the listed company - Any buyer of Cornerstone would simply step into our shoes with the carried interest

Cascabel is the type of asset that will end up under the control of a major mining company

Strategic positioning of Cornerstone's direct and indirect stake of 22% is extremely valuable and larger than both BHP’s 12.5% (14.7% of SOLG) and Newcrest’s 12.4% (14.6% of SOLG) stakes in Cascabel"

I suspect that CGP sales of SOLG shares are because they are desperately short of cash...can they hang on...

hxxp://www.cornerstoneresources.com/i/pdf/Financials_1Q20.pdf

They had only $933k cash at 31 March and during the 1st quarter sold almost $5m of SOLG shares at a loss...which suggests desperation to me...they had net Operational cash outflows in the quarter of $1.78m...

"During the three months ended March 31, 2020 the Company sold 4,985,838 (December 31, 2019 – 829,576) shares of SolGold Plc for total proceeds of $1,713,531 (December 31, 2019 - $279,013) and recorded a loss on the sale of long-term marketable securities of $1,394,448 (December 31, 2019 - $238,112) in comprehensive (loss) income. ..."

And I suspect it gets worse...just checked the CGP 7 May presentation...$3.2m in cash, suggests to me they have sold a further 6/7 million shares...that would leave them with c158m shares or 8.2%....

Surely Nick has their nuts in a vice...?

There won't be a placing but there will be a financing announcement of some kind which is likely to include convertibles.

The announcement could be made before the FNV deal is finalised but it is more likely to coincide. As we recently heard, FNV might not be on site until late July and so the deal might not be finalised for a few more weeks.

Wasting your breath nasdaq...you're filtered...thank God...

Anyhow...I repeat my prediction...

The economic recovery from CVD will be led by infrastructure spending by all major economies...

In addition, as we have now seen from Merckel in Germany as well as Macron in France, there will be a heavy emphasis on green projects and initiatives, such as the doubling of financial incentives to acquire EVs in Germany.

All that is very good news for copper which is not only core to green projects and EVs but also has unique anti infection properties...

Its only a matter of time now...tick tock...

It's a prize worth having, so no end of skulduggery will go on before a winner emerges, but BHP/Newcrest and Blackrock won't let it go for less than it's real value. CGP has to be resolved before any progress here. It feels like wading through treacle.

The market hasn't yet factored in the value of the Franco Nevada deal...it puts a notional value frame on Alpala...

Meanwhile if significant resources can be identified at the other prime sites it will make Alpala less critical to the share price ..

In the meantime I am increasingly of the view that this is being manipulated for a bid...

AAIMHO as usual...
