Great news at little ALTN gold today.

These have more gold than £420m mkt cap solg, are producing now, and have funding to develop the mine fully.
Current mkt cap £20m

Bullish 18 page precious metals report from Red Clouds mentioning many small caps including $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador SolGold

"...If it looks like a bull market (technical breakout in gold), smells like a bull market (significant negative yielding debt) and feels like a bull market (funds flowing into gold), it must be a bull market."

SolGold plc (TSX:SOLG) Analyst: Derek Macpherson
Fair Value Estimate: C$1.50/sh (was C$1.40/sh)

Methodology: NAVPS8% Estimate
Commentary:
SolGold continues to advance and expand its world-class Cascabel coppergold project in Ecuador. With 68,354m of drilling completed since the last
resource update, the company is continuing to expand the Alpala deposit,
which is located within the wider Cascabel land package. The company plans to release a Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE#3) and an updated economic study for Alpala later this year. Additionally, the company is rapidly growing the quality and potential of its regional exploration targets throughout Ecuador, highlighting the company’s significant value beyond Alpala. As a result of our higher gold price estimates we have increased our fair value estimate to C$1.50/sh (was C$1.40/sh), which is based on 0.80x our NAVPS estimate of C$1.88/sh (was C$1.56/sh).

Catalysts:
1. Formal bid for Cornerstone (H2/19)
2. Alpala exploration results (Ongoing)
3. Exploration results from regional targets (Ongoing).

isn't it odd how the pog goes up but the share price of solg is continuing to fall, yet the mkt cap is a ridiculous £420m.

shouldn't this be reasonably priced at about £20m since they are loss making and require a massive amount of cash to get any gold out of the ground?

or are they profitable these days?
do they have £300m in the bank?

Have you heard of suppy and demand, no one is buying shares in solgold anymore, today 3x1 sells in volume, thats why the price is dropping everyday, private investors have made there money in solgold, 1p a share up past 40p, 4000 percent increase, people have made there money, now you are left with a dog of s share, and would get far better returns in the last 18months in your local buildkng society.

To get Solgolds price up and not Cornerstones it will have to be Permit news or regionals .

Permits should be anytime soon

Seems the little gang of sellers doesnot think we will get anynews soon .

mknight, if there is good news not too far away then it would take fewer Solg shares to tempt CGP holders to swap their holdings. Or perhaps NM has already given the nod to Newcrest? Solg is a big prize worth having and NM is an experienced hand at this game, time will pass, eventually something will happen.

Lefrene i did mean newcrest.

By holding back as he has done . If Newcrest wants Cornerstone shares which Rio Tinto btw own 30 odd percent then the bidding war will start .

This will no doubt put our share price over the 60p option price . Realease MRE3 at the right time and maybe a pound wont be far away . All imho

If he didnot want to sell then he could have snapped up Cornestone by now by upping his offer
Again Imho

mknight, I assume you mean Newcrest? the miner with the block caving expertise. As per usual it all depends! Do Newcrest and BHP intend a joint project or does one or tother want all of it to themselves? Come the date Newcrest are out of purdah I presume they are free to chase Cornerstone if they wish, the only thing NM has to trade with are Solg shares, and he would need to raise the value of Solg shares before that mid October date that releases Newcrest. As that date approaches we might learn more about how BHP and Newcrest intend to proceed. (if at all?)

It seems some think that NM would rather do a deal with Newcrest, thus if Newcrest acquire Cornerstone it might suit NM, however we don't know how BHP views the situation. So as always the little guys have no idea which way the thing is going to go until the big boys show their hand. It all boils down to the fact that Cascabel is too big and juicy to ignore, there's lots of money to be made over decades from exploiting it. Either the big boys get it or NM raises the money from greedy Banks and develops it himself. By demonstrating that he is able to exploit it himself, NM raises the takeover value, he will not be a forced seller. Not much clarity of thought there I'm afraid, just observing the chess pieces as they stand on the board.

Will NM let Newmont snap up Cornerstone cheap ?Who knows what an agreement might be ..How would BhP act if that was the case ?

Could we have a 3 way partnership..

He doesn't need to sell shares he's rich, and of course it would send very much the wrong signal to the market. Yes indeed, just what is NM hoping to gain by not keeping the market informed of progress? It's become a situation of blind trust in Mr Mather doing his best for holders.

The positive is that he has found an accomplished financial 'fixer' to negotiate with lenders. It's possible that news has been withheld to enable our fixer to have something juicy to offer to potential lenders that is not yet known to the wider market? Is the drill information being withheld to deter cheap takeover offers whilst the company is weak?

The question is ..

Why would NM want Cornerstone if what we have found was worth very little.

Why has he more or less stopped drilling news ?
