Interesting response by $SOLG SolGold $SOLG.L management (with interest to $CGP) #ecuador

There is lots there to consider and clearly that board has taken its time. There's no way I can even contemplate the 4-d chess being played here but one thing in the RNS intruiges me....

"....SolGold believes this reflects the fact that the market understands that the proposed offer from SolGold would......

5. Probably see the bid succeed, in contrast to the statements by the Cornerstone Board in its release....."

Not "possibly" but "PROBABLY" - which suggests a higher level of confidence that over 50% of CGP shareholders are supportive of this bid 5 working days after the original announcement. OK - they the management are bigging up their hand as you would expect but nevertheless....

I am UK based and haven't found a definitive list of major shareholder in Cornerstone from which we could consider factions (and at the very least SOLG has 4.83% of CGP dated from the 30/06/18 to start the ball rolling) excepting which makes no reference to the individual SOLG/Rosseau holdings?

Is there anything available? Website/SEDAR etc don't seem to have this information?

Alwaysevolving .

Will he strike after releasing all the good news he has stored up .?

What will happen when solg goes up 50 percent and cornerstone only 25 ?

Will RIO TINTO or another realise they will be sat with nothing or only 5.5 percent of SOLGOLD .

Intersting next few weeks/months ahead.

Reading that RNS was priceless! Obviously no animosity at all between the two companies is there?! LOL.

This is getting more interesting by the week.

Nicks got a plan and he’s showing his hand. Have a feeling we will all benefit sooner than later?

GLA. Buckle up.....

Tower Resources plc (TRP.L, TRP LN), the AIM listed oil and gas company with its focus on Africa, notes the announcement dated 7 February 2019 from Total S.A. ("Total") regarding the results of the Brulpadda well, which has reported a significant gas condensate discovery in Block 11B/12B (Total 45% (Operator), Qatar Petroleum 25%, CNR International 20% and Main Street, South African consortium 10%) located in the Outeniqua basin, offshore South Africa. The well was drilled to a total depth of 3,633 metres and encountered 57 metres of net pay in Lower Cretaceous reservoirs, and with this discovery opens a new world class gas and oil play. Total have stated that they believe the new discovery could hold between 500 million to over one billion barrels of oil equivalent and they now intend to drill several further exploration wells on Block 11B/12B to test additional prospects.

Boys
Nick is keen to get corners 15%.

He then controls the takeout price rather than a defensive move from Solg.

2019 will be our last year of being an independent.

Great RNS.

Nick and his corporate advisers are pushing the boat out to flush out Irwin and cronies.

Very informative RNS. NM keeping us informed.
Makes no sense to me that offer was rejected.
Much better that Solg owns 100%.
That is the way forward.

Great rns by NM . Gerry you and many others just cannot see the bigger picture .

NM knows the chances are slim he will get cornerstone but is pushing RIO TINTO to show their hand .

Buying cornerstone is a cheap way of getting into solgold with a good percentage .This is going to flush them all out . Childish no no no brilliant yes yes yes .

Looks like a no brainer Sogoesit .

If RIO TINTO want to buy Solgold and get into Ecuador they will snap up cornerstone shortly . BHP would vote at this moment in favour of solgold as it would not like RIO TINTO taking a nice chunk of Solg through the purchase of cornerstone and cannot buy cornerstone as it is locked in .

Solgold will not last this year . If RIO TINTO buys cornerstone then it will within a short period of time buy Solgold.

Its also sitting on a sugar load of cash

for an article claiming to be non-biased on the first line, it seems remarkably skewed towards Cornerstone to me. Maybe I'm biased!

SOrry DImitri should have highlighted the link to be clearer. I have no idea as to the relative credibilty of this article.

SolGold may have only but some months, though, before
Cornerstone might get away from it, as I see things. Provided
SOLG meets its own stated time table of coming out with a P.E.A. on
Alpala around mid-year, it is probable that the valuations of both
companies will be enhanced. The price tag will go up for Cornerstone;
and at a time when SolGold is likely to still have a need to further and
perhaps massively raise money/dilute its shares further to keep all the
drills turning.

This old Seeking Alpha supply/demand article, especially the graph at the top of the second page does underline the case for the price of copper to rise significantly, making marginal mining projects viable.

Some say Alpala grades/extents are not that exciting in view of the cost of extraction.

Whatever you ascribe to the share price for SolGold's other prospects in Ecuador, this is a good proxy bet on the commodity price.

BHP and Newcrest's temporary lock-outs notwithstanding, there are other big players who will be watching, not least the Chinese.

You would think there might be something interesting with all those meters drilled.

Something I wondered was BHP have oil interests ... are there major oil company's with ... let's say for example copper interests ?

Have read of some major oilers starting to invest in the coming electrification business could they go further in the future ?

It will be 3 months since the last drilling update . Plenty to report no doubt .

Copper $2.836 A rising price surely indicates that there are more buyers than seller, scarcity or worry about future supplies. One day cannot tell us much but
the price has been rising. I assume people are hoping for a deal with China before March deadline. Most analysts forecast a shortage of copper and lots of M&A activity.
